1) HELMET – SEPTEMBER 3
A bizarre comedy from the heart of India, Helmet reveals one of the most disturbing issues in our society – people’s resistance to buying condoms, albeit in a non-preacher’s and funny way. This is the first Indian birth control device movie, clean and witty artist with a message. Directed by Satramm Ramani, film stars Aparshakti Khurana, Pranutan Bahl, Abhishek Banerjee and Ashish Verma.
2) DIKKILOONA – SEPTEMBER 10
The Tamil sci-fi fantasy movie revolves around the concept of time travel. The film, directed by Karthik Yogi, stars N Santhanam, Anagha, Shirin Kanchwala, and the Indian cricketer Harbhajan Singh. Santhanam plays a character who is forced to travel into the future to break a wedding in 2027. Does he succeed or not, creates the premises for the story.
3) KYA MERI SONAM GUPTA BEWAFA HAI – SEPTEMBER 10
In a small town in Uttar Pradesh, a young man Sintoo falls in love with Sonam Gupta, the city’s heartbeat, and a girl who falls outside his league. The story unfolds as Sonam reciprocates his feelings, leaving Sintoo even more confused. What happens next is a comedy series about mistakes in which a line written on a piece of paper goes viral and starts a chain of events. This fun watch stars Jassie Gill, Surbhi Jyoti, Vijay Raaz and late Surekha Sikri.
4) NET – SEPTEMBER 10
The life of Laxman’s mobile store owner in a small town turns upside down when he stumbles upon a subscription-based internet spy site and starts following a young girl named Priya. His innocent obsession makes him embark on a journey that ultimately leads him to make immoral decisions. The film stars Rahul Ramakrishna, Avika Gor, Praneeta Patnaik and Vishwa Dev, directed by Bhargav Macharla.
5) PAVITRA RISHTA… IT’S NEVER TOO LATE – September 15
ZEE5 brings back its popular series as a limited online series. The romantic family drama unfolds around Manav and Archana, the quintessential daughter-in-law and son of every Indian family, and their two typical middle-class families. Unlike other romantic dramas, “Pavitra Rishta … It’s Never Too Late” will be the beginning of a love story that must have ended when Manav and Archana are deceived by their families in a holy marriage. Directed by Nandita Mehra, Ankita Lokhande and Shaheer Shaikh star in a production. The TV version, which aired in 2009, featured Ankita Lokhande and Sushant Singh Rajput in the lead role.
6) PUAADA – September 17
Jaggi and Raunak need to ascend above all to save the day, make their parents fall in love with each other, and save their relationship from falling apart! With Ammy Virk and Sonam Bajwa is a crazy, desi-romantic Punjabi movie that should not be missed.
7) SAMANTARAL – September 17
A psychological drama film in Bengali, starring Parambrata Chatterjee and Riddhi Sen, revolves around Arko, who returns to his maternal uncles’ house to reunite with his extended family. There he meets his second uncle Sujana, who is always locked in the room due to his supposed mental illness. When Arko spends more time, he senses that something is wrong and the family is hiding something.
8) ALANTI SITRALU – September 24
A life story piece showing a musician, prostitute, amateur boxer and gangster trying to live a normal life. Everyone has different desires and needs. When the paths of these heroes cross, the course of their individual journeys takes a dramatic leap. The film, directed by Supreeth C Krishna, stars Shwetha Parashar, Yash Puri, Ajay Kathurvar and Prawin Yendamuri.
9) BREAK POINT – DATE TO BE ANNOUNCED
A seven-part series based on the iconic on-pitch partnership between living legends, Leander Paes and Mahesh Bhupathi, and their lives off the pitch. Break Point is the story of their friendship, brotherhood, partnership, faith, hard work and ambition that made them one of the scariest doubles in the late 90s and even ranked first in the world in 1999. But it also sheds light about their bitter breakup and how they couldn’t hold on to their lightning-fast ascent. It is primarily a story about two friends who planned success, but not for life after success. Directed by Nitesh Tiwari and Ashwina Iyer Tiwari, the series is a must-see.
