R&B star, The Weeknd is on a roll as he leads the 2021 iHeartRadio Music Awards with eight nominations. Rappers Megan The Stallion and Roddy Ricch follow The Weeknd with seven nominations each. The Weeknd has been nominated for Song of the Year nomination for his “Blinding Lights”, and also for the Male Artist of the Year.

The nominees for the music awards were announced on April 7.
iHeartRadio award ceremony on May 27, 2021
The 2021 iHeartRadio Music Awards will be telecast live from Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles on May 27 at 8 p.m. ET on Fox, according to an announcement by the award show organisers. Unlike the other shows this year that have been held virtually due to the pandemic, iHearRadio award ceremony will be held live.
The 2020 iHeartRadio awards telecast was canceled, with winners announced on radio.
The Weeknd snubbed by Grammys in 2021
The Weeknd had recently made the headlines after he decided to boycott the Grammys for not giving him a single nomination, despite his record breaking album of 2020, ‘After Hours’. “The Grammys remain corrupt. You owe me, my fans, and the industry transparency,” The Weeknd had tweeted at the time.
iHeartRadio nominations
This year, for the first time ever, iHeart has introduced a new award: TikTok Bop of the Year Award. Some of the TikTok hits from last year, such as ‘Say So’, ‘Blinding Lights’, ‘Savage’, ‘WAP’, etc, have been nominated for it.
Other Song of the Year nominees are Malone’s “Circles”; Dua Lipa’s “Don’t Start Now”; “Rockstar” from DaBaby and featuring Ricch, and Harry Styles’ “Watermelon Sugar.”
Megan Thee Stallion got nominations for Female Artist of the Year and Hip Hop Artist of the Year. She also won Hip Hop Song of the Year nomination for “Savage (Remix),” her No. 1 Beyoncé-assisted single. Her single with Cardi B, ‘WAP’, has also been nominated for Best Music Video, Favorite Music Video Choreography and TikTok Bop of the Year.

The performers for the ceremony are yet to announced.
