Ajay Devgan, who is all set to co-produce a comic-drama titled ‘GOBAR’, that will go on the floors at the end of the year, will also be seen in a web series that will be a remake of British show Luther. However, the official anouncement for the upcoming series is yet to be made.
In the previous month, Ajay Devgan took to his social media and asked his fans and admirers to refer to him not as Ajay Devgn but as Sudarshan. His statement left the viewers in a perplexed situation as to what the actor the Bollywood actor is now up to. However, according to the reports, the said post was a promotion for his soon to be launched webshow that would also mark Devgn’s OTT debut.

Ajay Devgan, who shared a post on his social media asking his fans to refer to him not as Ajay Devgan but as Sudarshan, left them in a perplexed situation as to what the Bollywood actor is up for his next project. However, reports claimed that thw said post was a promotion for his soon to be launched web show that would also mark Devgn’s OTT debut.
He shared a video on his Instagram where she urged his fans and viewers to call him Sudarshan. He said, “Aapse Kitni Baar bola hai, Ajay kisko bula rahe ho? Mera naam Sudarshan hai.. SU-DAR-SHAN” Translation: “For how many times I’ve told you, Whom are you calling Ajay? My name is SUDARSHAN”
According to the reports, Ajay Devgan will be playing the role of Sudarshan in his upcoming web series which will be a remake of the British TV show Luther.
“Yes, Ajay will be making his OTT debut with the Luther remake that is jointly being produced by BBC India and Applause Entertainment. Once ready the show will be aired on Disney+ Hotstar, and an official announcement of the show will happen sometime next week”, said reports.
The cast and plot of the upcoming show
“The original is a psychological crime thriller with Idris Elba playing the lead. Given the seriousness and gravitas needed for the role Ajay was the perfect fit for the remake. Besides Devgn, the remake will also feature a prominent female lead much like the original, and buzz is that Ileana D’Cruz has been approached for the said role.”
The said show, according to the reports, will be directed by Rajesh Mapuskar who directed the 2012 film Ferrari Ki Sawaari and the 2016 film Ventilator. There are not much updates about the storyline of the upcoming show, but, taking the British show Luther into consideration, Ajay Devgan can be seen going undercover as an investigator to solve crimes.
The official announcement for the show is yet to be made.
