MIRZAPUR season 1 was a great HIT and the producers of the series have been given the HINTS that this might be the bigger HIT than the last time. Just a week left for the release of season 2 out on Amazon Prime Video.

Here’s everything you need to know about some of the crazy facts about Mirzapur season 1 and 2.

In 2018, The first season of Mirzapur was released on Amazon Prime and fans have not stopped talking about the Indian thriller. The series follows two brothers who are caught up in a world of extreme violence, guns, drugs, violence, and the mafias. Mirzapur season 2 has been filmed and going to be on prime video on 23rd October 2020 and recently the prime video released a short teaser clip for season 2, announcing the show will showcase the war between Munna and Guddu Bhaiya.

Mirzapur season 1 topped the spot of the best Indian TV series on Amazon Prime

In case you missed the funny part amidst the gunfight in Episode 7 of season 1 (below in the picture), where Guddu and Bablu were attacked by police, Guddu and Bablu enter into a house after their car gets banged.

While there were constant gun firing and people were shouting, you can hear the commentary of an IPL match. The fun was that the commentary was about the player named Vayu (a character from Inside Edge (TV series) and Mavericks (Mumbai Mavericks, a team from the same series) meaning the sound director uses the commentary from the TV series owns by Amazon prime, referring that both the series takes place in the same universe, no doubt that’s the Prime Universe and the real one. Funny isn’t it?

The mafia boss of Mirzapur, Akhandanand Tripathi is also known by the name of Kaleen Bhaiyaa, played by Pankaj Tripathi.

Did you know why he got this unique name Kaleen (carpet in English) bhaiya?

If you haven’t googled it yet, Mirzapur is famous for its Carpet Industry, yes Carpet Industry. In Mirzapur, you can find so many skilled handloom workers and the local Kaleen shops. Even Kaleen Bhaiya aka Pankaj Tripathi said in a press conference that the audience must not have any doubts about Mirzapur it’s a peaceful place famous for its carpet industry.

Did it ever occur to you or did you ever try to find out if the series is based upon the real story?

So, here’s the answer. No the story is not based on a true story but in fact the series inspired by the two real-life brothers-gangsters from Jaunpur, known by the names of Guddu and Bablu. Although the writers have researched a lot about these two brothers and used their real-life stories so that they can put their stories into their imagination, Ali Fazal (Guddu Bhaiya) told to Express.co.uk in an interview.

Real gangster Guddu wasn’t a bodybuilder or a macho man

As shown in the series, maybe he did not have the GYM facilities back then, who knows? But the fact is that the current of the image of Guddu bhaiya was inspired by a real-bodybuilder from Mirzapur and writers were overwhelmed by the effort and commitment made by these people to win the local competition.

That’s just not it, the writers and their team met with the real gangster to put some real thing in their own TV series story. Interesting right?

Here you can see Shweta Tripathi Sharma Aka Golu Gupta taking practice sessions with a pistol for her upcoming role in Mirzapur season 2. Badass!!
