Ananya Panday and Siddhant Chaturvedi may soon be seen together on the big screen, but recently they were on opposite ends of the spectrum when the interview they were both part of exploded as a meme fest on social media. Ananya was ruthlessly trolled for equating the struggle in the industry with being at Koffee With Karan at a Rajeev Masanda roundtable featuring young Bollywood stars. It was Siddhant’s stark retort to her response that led to a massive social media meme fest in which the actor was praised for invoking the privilege.

This response came during Rajeev Masanda’s chat, attended by Ananya and Siddhant, where the former were seen trying to define struggle and nepotism.
During Rajeev’s roundtable, Ananya, talking about her struggles despite being a star, said, “I’ve always wanted to be an actor. Just because my dad was an actor, I will never say no to an opportunity to act. My dad has never been in a Dharma movie, he never went to Koffee with Karan. So it’s not as easy as people say. Everyone has their own journey and their own struggle.”
Siddhant was hailed when he responded to Ananya’s ideas about struggles, saying, “Everyone has their own struggle. The difference is that jahaan humare sapne poore hote hain, wahan inka struggle shuru hota hai (their struggle begins where our dreams come true).”
Over a year later, Ananya Panday finally addressed what she thinks about interaction. During her talk on Social Media Star, hosted by Janice Sequeira, Ananya said: “Basically I agree. But I also think Sid and I were saying the same thing. Sometimes in interviews, as you can see, I am very overwhelmed. “If I had to go back, I would probably change the way I said something.“
“We laughed about it later. Sid and I are really close. We have nothing strange in this. People made it bigger and it became meme-worthy.“
