Since the pandemic has begun the release of movies on the big screen has somehow lost its essence. More often we have witnessed the release of a movie on a digital platform and not in theatres. Before the pandemic, We all used to go out with friends and family to enjoy a movie in theatres and that was a wholesome experience, which we miss nowadays. Production houses and businesses that are in the film industry are trying their best to bring that experience back. Somehow we have managed to live with the covid-19 virus and with precautions and proper safety measures we can watch some movies in the theatres and could support such businesses related to theatres or the film industry. Actors, actresses, the production house, the direction team, and the whole film crew are doing their best by entertaining us during this tough time and when we need them the most. Let’s not forget their hard work and commitment towards their work, solely for us.

To all the Delhi and NCR people, we have brought a list of few movies that are currently running on the big screen of your favorite actor actresses that you should watch in theatres, conditions applied with proper safety measures. Wonder Woman 1984

Wonder Woman 1984 is a superhero film, the sequel to the 2017’s Wonder Woman. It’s the ninth installment to DC extended universe starring Gal Gadot as Diana Prince/Wonder Woman who must contend with a work colleague and businessman, whose desire for extreme wealth sends the world down a path of destruction, after an ancient artifact that grants wishes go missing. Wonder Woman 1984 was first premiered on December 15, 2020, on the DC FanDome virtual platform. It was theatrically released on December 25, 2020, in the United States and worldwide, streamed digitally on HBO Max for a month. In international markets that do not have HBO Max, the film was theatrically released beginning on December 16, 2020.

So far Gal Gadot’s performance has received good critics from the audience, even the Indian actor, Hrithik Roshan couldn’t keep his calm,  who has expressed his feelings towards the Wonder Woman character and especially his Feelings for Gal Gadot in his Twitter post. The actor took over Twitter and shared his picture with his family while watching Wonder Woman in the theatre.

Ramprasad Ki Tehrvi is an Indian Comedy/Drama film where Bauji’s (Naseeruddin Shah) entire family comes under one roof for 13 days after he passes away. Each one of them discovers their own selves and truth. The cast also includes Ninad Kamat, Vineet Kumar, Manoj Pahwa, and Konkana Sen. Ramprasad Ki Tehrvi was released on January 1, 2021, Seema Pahwa’s directorial debut didn’t get many footfalls till now but people who watched loved it, there’s been praising of the performance of the already awesome cast and calling the direction a class. Indoo ki Jawani

Kiara Advani starring Hindi comedy film, a coming-of-age story of a girl who experiences life through misadventures & dating apps. The movie released like a month before on December 11, 2020, but is still there on many Delhi screens and is expected to be there for a week or 2 more. It was a bold decision by the makers to take the step of releasing a heroine-oriented movie on big screens at a time where not many others are choosing this way.

Christopher Nolan’s science fiction action thriller is deserved to be watched on the Big Screen. The “Protagonist” armed with only one word, Tenet, and fighting for the survival of the entire world. The cast includes John David Washington, Robert Pattinson, Kenneth Branagh, Elizabeth Debicki, and Dimple Kapadia. India has always loved Nolan’s masterpieces that include “Inception and Interstellar” but Tenet’s response a bit underwhelming maybe due to Covid-19 concerns. The movie is available in Hindi-2D and English 2D and IMAX 2D. Suraj Pe Mangal Bhari

Hindi satirical comedy-drama film starring Diljit Dosanjh, Manoj Bajpayee, and Fatima Sana Shaikh in lead roles. The movie is based in the 1990s, where a wedding detective has to perform background checks on prospective grooms. A time before social media and mobile phones, everything to be done in person will be chaos. The Zee Studios film directed by Abhishek Sharma was released on November 13, 2020, and is still “now showing” in many theatres in Delhi. Suraj Pe Mangal Bhari is now available on Zee5. People have always loved Diljit in comedy roles and are still up to.

The Secret Garden

Harry Potter makers’ are back with another magical film The Secret Garden, a British fantasy comedy-drama film based on the 1911 novel of the same name, where an orphaned girl discovers a magical garden hidden at her strict uncle’s estate. The Secret Garden is directed by Marc Munden who is also known for directing the popular film Utopia. IMDB writes 5.5/10 and it’s 67% from RottenTomatoes. The film released on January 8, 2021 in Indian theatres and is available in English-2D in Cinepolis: DLF Avenue, Saket; PVR Promenade, Vasant Kunj; PVR Select city walk; PVR: Logix, Noida; PVR: Ambience(gold), Gurgaon.

Madam Chief Minister

Madam Chief Minister is a Hindi political drama, a T-Series film directed by Subhash Kapoor stars Richa Chadda in lead. The film also features Manav Kaul and Saurabh Shukla. People believe that Madam Chief Minister is somewhat based on Mayawati’s life, a Dalit politician rises to the rank of CM, and even the boyish haircut. The film is all set to release in theatres on 22nd January 2021. Madam Chief Minister will be available to watch in most of the theatres in Delhi. Here’s the trailer:

The Secrets We Keep

An American drama thriller wherein post-WWII period, a woman, trying to rebuild her life with her husband in the suburbs, kidnaps a neighbor and seeks revenge for the heinous war crimes she believes he committed against her. The film is directed by Yuval Alder and the cast includes Noomi Rapace, Joel Kinnaman, and Chris Messina. The reviews are as follows: 5.7 from IMDB and 64% from RottenTomatoes. The movie was released on December 11, 2020, and is available to watch English-2D only in PVR Promenade, Vasant Kunj of New Delhi.

12 ‘O’ Clock

Ram Gopal Varma’s 12 ‘O’clock is an Indian horror film starring Mithun Chakraborty, Flora Saini, Manav Kaul, Krishna Gautam, and Makarand Deshpande. The story revolves around a girl who’s getting traumatized by nightmares and incidents of sleepwalking, following the process of getting her out of the possession. Ram Gopal Varma has made horrors before that includes Bhoot and Darna Zaroori Hai, some have worked and some not. The film is already released on January 7 and is available to watch in most of the theatres in Delhi.

An American family comedy film based on a novel with the same name where a kid is forced to give up his much-loved bedroom when his grandfather shifted with family, Peter, the kid declares war against his grandpa to get his room back. Director Tim Hill is an animator and has given great animated movies including Spongebob and Garfield. He knows what kids want, this film is also a family comedy majorly driven by kids. The movie got 5.5 from IMDB and 30% from RottenTomatoes. The War with Grandpa was released on November 20, 2020, and still is available to watch in English-2D only in PVR Promenade, Vasant Kunj of New Delhi.
