BLACKPINK
BLACKPINK is one of the most popular girl groups in South Korea and Internationally. The group consists of 4 girls, Lisa, Rose, Jennie, and Jisoo. Although BLACKPINK doesn’t release a lot of music (9 tracks in 3 years) they continue to get new fans every year. They released their first-ever full album in 2020, THE ALBUM, and have been hinting towards the member’s solo works for a while now
Rose at Jimmy Fallon’s Show
Rosé is slated to make her solo debut on March 12 with the single album “R,” which contains the title track “On The Ground” and the b-side “Gone.” The specific songs she will perform on the talk show have not been revealed yet.
BLACKPINK guested on “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon” as a group in June 2020. At the time, the girl group premiered the performance of “How You Like That” and took on the “Try Not to Laugh” challenge with Jimmy Fallon.
When is BLACKPINK Rosé’s Solo Debut?
On Mar. 1, YG Entertainment and BLACKPINK’s Rosé shared two teasers to their social media accounts. One features Rosé lying down on what appears to be a leather beige couch. Her upper body is covered in lilac-colored fabric. Her name is spelled out in huge, yellow letters. On top of her name is her debut date – Mar. 12, 2021.
“ON THE GROUND”- March 12
YG Entertainment revealed the music video teaser for the BLACKPINK’s member’s debut solo single and while it’s brief, it encapsulates high-fashion glamour coupled with Rosé’s cool insouciance. As the hype for Rosé’s debut solo album builds, so do the records she’s breaking. Rosé’s debut -R- has now become the first female soloist album to surpass 200,000 preorders on the K-pop retail site Ktown4u.

Rose’s has now made history with her album pre sale orders which are more than 200k.
The previous record-holder IU clocked 118,000 preorders. Rosé is one of only three solo artists in history to have an album pre-order track so high, joining Baekhyun and Kang Daniel. This is success particularly notable given many feel that BLACKPINK’s label YG Entertainment have hindered the success of BLACKPINK and its members’ solo careers though incredible delays and mismanagement.

When will Rosé’s debut album and music video go live?
The singer gave a sneak preview of the solo effort during January’s livestream concert, The Show, during which she performed the track “Gone.” A recent teaser trailer for the “Gone” video featured the 25-year-old artist lying on the floor of a bathroom, and also staring blankly into the distance as she sat at a dinner table set for one.
