THE WHISPER MAN

by Alex North

“The devil finds work for idle hands. Bad thoughts find empty heads.”

North’s crime debut book and its honestly a surprisingly astonishing debut. It revolves around the very disturbing story of The Whisper Man, who over 20 years ago kidnapped and murdered 5 local boys in the small town of Featherbank.

Tom Kennedy moves to this new town with his family, hoping to get a fresh new and peaceful start. And he is not made aware that twenty years ago, in their new town, a serial killer nicknamed the “Whisper Man” lured young boys away from the safety of their homes by whispering into their windows at night. The man just wants to protect his special son, who is ‘creative; enough to make up a very elaborate imaginary friend. An imaginary friend who knows a riddle, one that serves as a warning about the whisper man.

There is nothing graphic in the book but even so, it is chilling and frightening with its nerve-wrecking tension and horror scenes.

If you leave a door half open, soon you’ll hear the whispers spoken.
If you play outside alone, soon you won’t be going home.
If your window’s left unlatched, you’ll hear him tapping at the glass.
If you’re lonely, sad, and blue, the Whisper Man will come for you.

THESE VIOLENT DELIGHTS

These Violent Delights has become one of the most talked-about book on every platform and it definitely deserves the hype its getting. It’s a retelling of Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet but with a lot of twists.

These Violent Delights, set in ancient China, follows Juliette Cai, heir to the Scarlet Gang, an angry woman who watches as her city falls further into the clutches of white foreigners. And ofcourse, a bookl set in China has to has some mythical creatures so if not a dragon, why not a sudden appearance of a monster that causes people to tear out their own throats.

The only way Juliette can defeat the monster and save her people is to work with Roma Montagov, heir to the rival Russian White Flowers and the boy she once loved—before he betrayed her.

A vibrant, spice-filled read that may or may not end as tragically as the original Romeo and Juliet tale.
