Bridgerton was undoubtedly a huge success and people cannot stop talking about it! The couple from season one, daphne and simon are still one of the most talked about series couples.! The second season of Bridgerton is set to begin shooting in London in April 2021, all being well with the world, and Simone Ashley has been cast as a new lead, based on a character named Kate Sheffield from the second Bridgerton novel, The Viscount Who Loved Me.
While promoting her work with Fairtrade Fortnight, Adjoa, Lady Danbury, said: “We’ve seen what happens to Daphne so far. So next along is her oldest brother, Anthony, played by the delicious Johnny Bailey. There’ll be a lot more attention on him. “As you get from season one, he is absolutely the boy who is born to be Duke, who is struggling with that responsibility. There is a freedom that is not going to be his to enjoy in the same way.
“I think it’s quite an interesting conversation, as it’s not just about women being married off, it was happening to men, as well. Not everybody who was born to inherit wants to, so we have that real tension in that storyline.
By the end of Season 1 of Bridgerton , we all come to know that it is Penelope Featherington, played by Nicola who is actually Lady Whistledown. Readers had gotten several clues from the very first episode but none got the right guess. Whether that identity will be revealed to other characters in Season 2 is yet to be known.
Who is Season 2 of Bridgerton going to be about?
As heavily foreshadowed in Season 1, the second season of “ Bridgerton ” will focus on the love story of Viscount Anthony Bridgerton, played by Jonathan Bailey. In the Instagram post announcing the second season, the omnipresent Lady Whistledown revealed that “Lord Anthony Bridgerton intends to dominate the social season.”
Per the official book summary:
“Anthony Bridgerton hasn’t just decided to marry — he’s even chosen a wife! The only obstacle is his intended’s older sister, Kate Sheffield — the most meddlesome woman ever to grace a London ballroom. So, um, mild spoiler alert: Anthony winds up with Kate. And Kate will be played by Simone Ashley, who stars as Olivia in Netflix’s “Sex Education.”
When is ‘Bridgerton’ Season 2 coming out?
No date is given yet, although the original announcement from Netflix said Season 2 will begin filming in Spring 2021. Which is, optimistically, around now. When you start seeing scenes of English country estates, insane costumes, and wigs in the Instagram posts of actors and directors, you know the game is on. Does that mean we’ll have another Christmas Day release for Season 2? We can only hope the bees return to the hive in time. (this apparently is a hint)
