OMG Sex Education Series star Simone Ashley joins Bridgerton Season 2 as female lead!
Simone Ashley, Sex Education star, joins Bridgerton Season 2 as the female lead, confirmed by Netflix. 

Actor Simon Ashley, best known for her role in Sex Education and Because the Night, joins Bridgerton Season 2 as female lead starring opposite Jonathan Bailey. Simon, who played Olivia Hanan in Sex Education will be playing Kate in Bridgerton season 2, which focuses on trials in love of the eight children of the Bridgerton family. The news is confirmed by Netflix itself.

They confirmed the news of Simone Ashley for starring next to Jonathan Bailey and wrote, “Get ready to fall in love with Simone Ashley, who will play Kate in Season 2 of Bridgerton. Kate is a smart, headstrong young woman who suffers no fools — Anthony Bridgerton very much included.”

Bridgerton was released on Netflix late last year and was a global hit.`

About season 2 of Bridgerton:

In season 2, Simone Ashley will be playing Kate who is “a smart, headstrong young woman, newly arrived in London, who suffers no fools — Anthony Bridgerton very much included”. Season 2 will be followed by the eldest of the Bridgerton sibling, Anthony, played by Jonathan Bailey (as detailed in the second book of Quinn’s Bridgerton series, The Viscount Who Loved Me.).

Bridgerton continues to break conventions on race in season 2. After his break-up with opera singer Siena, Anothony (Jonathan Bailey) is determined to find a suitable wife for himself, which will be the focal point in season 2.

Ashley and Jonathan Bailey will be seen making romantic interests and they will succeed Page and Phoebe Dynevor, who became worldwide stars as Simon and Daphne, the couple whose romance and sex scenes in Season 1 caught everybody’s attention. The first season, which premiered on December 25, revolves around the romance and marriage between the eldest Bridgerton daughter, Daphne (Phoebe Dynevor), and Simon Basset, Duke of Hastings (Rege-Jean Page).

The first season also saw the ups and downs in Anthony’s relationship with opera singer Siena, which finally ended.

Bridgerton is produced by Shonda Rhimes’ Shondaland and has been described as Gossip Girl meets Downton Abbey. Bridgerton was released on Christmas Day last year and had become Netflix’s biggest ever original series after it was viewed by a record 82 million households in less than a month (as confirmed by Netflix itself).
