BTS is arguably the top music band we have and there are many artists who want to work with them. They are after all super-famous and super-successful, not to mention their sick beats and brilliant lyrics. BTS has often revealed the names of artists that wish to collab with them but they simply do not have the time or don’t think it’s the right match for their music.
Many of the past collaborations with BTS have led to some awe-inspiring stuff. Here’s a look at some of the best collaborations.
IDOL
BTS X NICKI MINAJ
Nicki Minaj joining the band for a song that was already a hit was unexpected and totally amazing. Nicki Minaj wrote her own lyrics for the bridge and even suggested adding the Korean translation in the music video. The video was great and so was the choreography. Nicki’s clothes matched wonderfully with the colorful music video and BTS’s aesthetic.
Idol has many traditional Korean vibes to it from the instrumentals to the hanbok clothing BTS was wearing and Nicki Minaj’s appearance gave it a little more spice.
A BRAND NEW DAY
BTS X ZARA LARSSON
Like all BTS collabs, this one came as a surprise as well. Armys were happy to hear about this sweet collab. This one has the traditional Korean instrument daegeum featured prominently. It has predominantly an electronic/hip-hop melody.
DREAM GLOW
BTS X CHARLI XCX
This one is about love at first sight, but not in the way you might be thinking. BTS changed the original lyrics of the song to match one of the love they have for an army! This song has the best of BTS and XCX.
BEST OF ME
BTS X THE CHAINSMOKERS
This song was made for dancing. The beat along with the amazing choreography has crowned this song as one of the BTS in BTS’ discography. A lot of armys may not know about this song being a collab, but it’s really appreciated nonetheless.
BOY WITH LUV
BTS X HALSEY
This collab is probably the most popular one on this list. Halsey was already a great friend to BTS, and their friendship only deepened after working together. Boy with Luv broke tons of records and the music video was all pink and fun. The music video has passed 1 Billion views.
MIC DROP
BTS X STEVE AOKI FEATURING DESIIGNER
This one won many records. It topped the iTunes chart and BTS became the first K-pop group to receive a gold certification from the Recording Industry Association of America. Another great collab and has a different vibe to it.
Another honorable mention :
WASTE IT ON ME
BTS X STEVE AOKI
BTS has also had collaborations with SIA, Fall Out Boy, Jason Derulo, and Wale, among others.
