BTS TO RECEIVE AWARD FROM PRESIDENT MOON
President Moon Jae In will meet the world-famous K-Pop team BTS at Blue House on September 14. This will be the first time in more than a year that he will meet BTS since the first Youth Day event last year.
According to Blue House, President Moon presented the BTS with the nomination form for the Future Culture Special Envoy at BTS on September 11. In early July, President Moon announced that the BTS had been appointed as the Special Envoy for Future Generations and Culture to lead a global program for future generations, like sustainable growth, and to increase the power of communication within the Korean state in a higher society.

As a special envoy, BTS will be attending major international conferences such as the 76th UN General Assembly to be held in New York on September 21 to bring messages of comfort and hope to young people around the world. In addition, they also plan to promote a range of activities including international cooperation to address global issues such as environmentalism, poverty, development of inequality, and respect for diversity.
In an interview with the media, BTS said, “We have grown up with the current generation of young people. We have seen and understood direct social impacts, such as global crises and major economic crises. We will participate, whether it is a regular meeting or if there is something we can do and we have the power to do it. ”
