BTS at Grammys 2021 gave the Best Performance

BTS’ ‘DYNAMITE’ Performance Marked As The Highlight of Grammys: BTS might not have won their first Grammy Award this year but their amazing act at the ceremony undoubtedly created history. The popular septet was nominated in the ‘Best Pop Duo/Group Performance’ category for their big hit ‘Dynamite’ and performed the same song at the Grammys. This is for the first time that BTS performed one of its songs live. And they are the first-ever Korean band to perform at the Grammys, with their original song. Fans were outraged with results when they heard that BTS loses to Taylor Swift in the only-nominated category. The Grammys had done a lot of promotion for the Best Pop Duo/Group Performance, even more than the main categories and they kept edging on Armys and BTS on Twitter, making them think they had a real chance of a fair win.

Earlier this year, the band earned their first Grammy nomination for Best Pop Duo/Group Performance for Dynamite and delivered a breathtaking performance on a rooftop overseeing a breathtaking night view of Seoul. The Dynamite video on YouTube (titled “BTS (방탄소년단) Dynamite Official MV”) premiered in August 2020. It garnered over 101.1 million views in its first 24 hours, making it the biggest music video debut on the video platform to date! Even ARMY wasn’t able to break it a second time for the LIFE GOES ON mv. The video also set a record for the biggest YouTube Premiere with over 3 million peak concurrent views.

On April 12, the music video for “Dynamite” surpassed 1 billion views on YouTube. It took only seven and a half months to reach this amazing milestone.

“Dynamite,”: No. 1 on the YouTube Global Top Songs chart

“Dynamite,” which is the K-pop group’s first song entirely in English, charted in over 50 countries on YouTube. The video also opened at No. 1 on the YouTube Global Top Songs chart, and has remained on the chart for 32 straight weeks. It also stayed debuted and stayed at #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. It broke over 100 records in the first few weeks.

Dynamite is BTS’s third music video, as well as their fastest, to achieve the milestone after “DNA” and “Boy With Luv.” More of BTS’ music videos, including Mic drop and Fake love are close to hitting 1 billion.

BTS was one of the top 10 most-viewed artists on the platform in 2020

According to YouTube, BTS was one of the top 10 most-viewed artists on the platform in 2020 and they have over 47.4 million subscribers on their official artist channel BANGTANTV. Over 90% of BTS’ YouTube views last year came from outside of South Korea. They gained over 20 million subscribers since April 2020. Their fanbase is constantly growing and maybe we’ll see ARMY break all these record again whenever BTS release their next album.

Grammys 2021: BTS gave the best performance

The audience and the hosts were mesmerized and applauded BTS for the fantastic set and fresh performance. Performing in a Grammy-lined room, under a ceiling dripping with flowers, in a stairwell, and on a spotlight-drenched rooftop, BTS’ highly mobile performance was one of the evening’s most energetic, with classy and colorful outfits, live vocals, and a clean-cut choreography that had everyone jumping to their feet.
