CAFE MINMDANG: A PREVIEW
Cafe Minamdang is a Korean mystery-drama television series directed by Ko Jae-Hyun and written by Park Hye-jin. It is based on Jung Jae-novel Han’s Minamdang: Sagun Soochub. Park Hye-jin, Ko Jae-Hyun, and Yun Ra-young devised the series, which will premiere on KBS2 and Netflix.
Based on the online book Minamdang: Case Note, the forthcoming K-Drama follows former criminal profiler Nam Han-jun (Seo In-guk) as he becomes a swindler disguised as a shaman after a series of bizarre incidents.
CAFE MINAMDANG: PLOT AND CAST
“A shady enterprise that sells the services of a seemingly all-knowing shaman captures the interest of a determined police investigator,” according to Netflix. The series follows Nam Han-Joon, a criminal profiler-turned-fraudster who transforms himself into a fortune teller and uses his business Minamdang to entice and defraud consumers.
He does, however, use his skills as a criminal profiler to assist individuals in need and give “customer service.” When investigator Han Jae-hee learns of his unfair ways, their lives become entwined, as do the amusing circumstances they find themselves in!
CAFE MINAMDANG: RELEASE DATE
“A mysterious business that offers the services,” Netflix defines the series. The sitcom is due to premiere on June 27 and promises a mix of rib-tickling comedy and serious drama… with hints of romance thrown in for good measure.
The series will feature 18 episodes and will air every Monday and Tuesday from June 27 to August 23, 2022. It will have a length of roughly 60 minutes, which is usual for Korean dramas, and will replace Bloody Heart on KBS2 Monday-Tuesday at 09.30 PM.
