Once Actress Sophie Turner from G.O.T shared a story of Sarah Everard’s disappearance, since then the case has moved to a different direction. This case is getting an international attention. Sarah Everard’s disappearance has been the talk of the town lately and police officials are investigating the case with all their strengths. Confiscating the investigation of Sarah Everard further, a Metropolitan Police Officer has been arrested for Ms. Everard’s disappearance in South London and today, ‘Human remains’ are found by the police in Kent Woodland.

However, the detectives have not yet been able to confirm the identify of the remains, which were discovered near Ashford, Kent, where Sarah was last seen. Prior to this, the Met police had arrested the officer and it was a ‘significant development’.

“The arrest this evening is a serious and significant development”, said the Assistant Commissioner Nick Ephgrave. “We will continue to work with all speed on this investigation but the fact that the arrested man is a serving Metropolitan Police Officer is both shocking and deeply concerning”, he added. However, the name of the arrested officer has not been revealed by the Met police.

Dame Cressida on the investigation:

Dame Cressida confirmed officers searching an area near Ashford had “found, very sadly, what appears to be human remains”. Specialist officers have updated Sarah’s family about the investigation, said Met Police commissioner.

Dame Cressida said that Sarah’s disappearance is every family’s worst nightmare.

“Sarah’s disappearance in these awful and wicked circumstances is every family’s worst nightmare. I know Londoners will want to know that it is thankfully incredibly rare for a woman to be abducted from our streets”, said Dame Cressida.

She further added, “But I completely understand that despite this, women in London and the wider public – particularly those in the area where Sarah went missing – will be worried and may well be feeling scared.” Dame Cressida also said that the arrest of a serving Met Police officer on suspicion of murder “has sent waves of shock and anger through the public and through the whole of the Met”.

“I speak on behalf of all my colleagues in the Met when I say we are utterly appalled at this dreadful news,” Dame added. “Our job is to patrol the streets and to protect people.” Hundreds of police officers have been set up for carrying the investigation of Sarah’s disappearance and the search continues in South Delhi, Kent.

Sarah Everard is a 33-year-old marketing executive, who was last seen in Clapham Junction/ Clapham Common/ Brixton Area, after leaving a friend’s house at about 9 p.m. on 3 March. She has been described as “beautiful, thoughtful and incredibly kind”.

Sarah is believed to have walked through Clapham Common towards her home – a journey that should have taken her about 50 minutes. Ms. Everard’s family is extremely concerned for her disappearance and has said it is out of character for her to disappear.

Ms Everard is 5 foot 4 inches, blonde hair and a slim build woman. She was wearing a green raincoat, dark blue trousers with a white diamond pattern and a green “ON” running shoes. Ms. Everard is originally from York and attended Durham University. She is thought to have been wearing green earphones and a white beanie hat.

Sarah’s friends and relatives took to their social media handles and issued appeals to help find Sarah in a hope that social media has very much power in itself.

The story of Sarah Everard is heartbreaking and the number of women that are talking about their unwanted experiences with men is tremendous on Twitter is huge. Women are talking about how they were physically assaulted in a broad daylight and they do not feel safe in the country. Indeed this case has taken a different turn now and we should not make it political because Sarah needs Justice, not political chaos, and women need safety, not restrictions on traveling.
