Famous actors and real-life husband-wife couple, Mila Kunis and Ashton Kutcher have joined forces with singer Shaggy to act together in a Super Bowl LV commercial for Cheetos’ new Cheetos Crunch Pop Mix. This commercial aired during the free-to-watch Super Bowl broadcast.
In the commercial, we see Kucher singing verses of Shaggy’s 20-year old hit song, “It Wasn’t Me”, while Kunis claims that she did not steal his Cheetos, even when she clearly had cheese dust all over her fingers and some on her mouth. However, Kutcher still believes Kunis’s claim of not stealing his Cheetos. “Well, that’s the first time that’s ever worked,” Shaggy said at the end.
We also got some clips of parts of the commercial that did not make the cut. In one, Kunis overreacts as she prepared for how she would tell Kutcher it was not her, only to have Shaggy tell her she was doing too much. In a second clip, we see Kutcher go through a bag of evidence, finding photos of Kunis with his bag of Cheetos before finding the empty bag itself in the envelope.
“That was amazing on many levels, because to just watch the chemistry between them you could tell why they’re, you know, why they’re a couple,” Shaggy said, talking about working with Mila Kunis and Ashton Kutcher. He called them the “perfect example of marrying your best friend” and gushed over their “back-and-forth” comical exchange “just laughing, joking.” “That’s why That ’70s Show was such a great success, you know what I mean? Because […] it was just so, so fly.”
This year marks the 20th anniversary of Shaggy’s hit single “It Wasn’t Me,”
It has been 20 years since Shaggy released his hit song “It Wasn’t Me”, so that makes it the perfect time to feature it in a Super Bowl commercial. The commercial was produced by Frito-Lay’s creative agency Goodby, Silverstein & Partners and directed by Bryan Buckley. Fans could get a free bag of the new Cheetos Crunch Pop Mix by taking a picture of the bag shown in the commercial and hold it down to unlock the offer.
