Don’t Look Up : When there was news about the craziest, A-list casting in 2020 late last year, we could hardly hold back. After waiting for months, Adam McKay’s new Netflix comedy “Don’t Look Up” finally has an official trailer. Here’s all you need to know about the movie.
Cast of Don’t Look Up
It would seem that everyone we are obsessed with (plus a few frills) has been casted in the movie. Jennifer Lawrence, Timothée Chalamet, Ariana Grande, Leonardo DiCaprio, Meryl Streep, Matthew Perry, Kid Cudi, Jonah Hill, Himesh Patel, Cate Blanchett and Rob Morgan will star in the upcoming film. Indeed, Don’t Look Up will be one of the ages, and Netflix has confirmed that the movie will first hit theatres on December 10, 2021, and will then land on the streaming platform on December 24.

When it comes to casting, any number of these celebrities chained together can cause the internet to collapse on many levels, so all of them together seem like an extremely chaotic og. This is the first film in three years to see J-law starring, and it is Grande’s first non-musical acting role since the Scream Queens.

Plot
As for the plot of Don’t Look Up, it is said that the main characters of the film are Lawrence and DiCaprio, who play the roles of astronomers who prophesy that an Earth-destroying meteor is about to strike, ending civilisation. Unfortunately, during their media journey around the world to warn world leaders, they don’t realise that no one really does GAF.
A very predictable response to the Trump era of science rejection, as director McKay himself notes: “When we research this movie, it all happens with coronavirus, and we see clips of Trump saying, ‘Ah, it’s nothing’, meanwhile this thing breeds into this terrifying way and we all had to run and hop on a plane, get out of town and go back to Los Angeles,” he told Rolling Stone.

The upcoming film revolves around Kate Dibiasky (Jennifer), an Astronomy graduate and professor Dr. Randall Mindy (Leonardo), who started the great travel media to remind everybody about the impending comet that will destroy the planet Earth.
McKay wrote, directed and co-produced the film with Kevin Messick at McKay’s production company Hyperobject Industries.
Movie Trailer Don’t Look Up
In the trailer that has just been released, DiCaprio and Lawrence are seen as Dr. Randall Mindy and Dr. Kate Dibiasky panicking and then making their breakthrough with the US President played by Meryl Streep (!) and her son carrying a birkin by Jonah Hill. Excellent!
Surprise! Ariana Grande is one of the stars of Netflix’s new movie Don’t Look Up – she made a brief appearance in a trailer that just went down.
It’s unclear what role Ariana is playing, but you can see her 40 seconds in the trailer wearing some elaborate studded leather headdress. In one of the first images posted by Netflix, you can see Ari hugging Kid Cudi, who is also featured in the film.
Personally, we can’t wait for all cast members to share on-screen time. From our favourite Capricorn and Call Me By Your Name star Timothée Chalamet, to the ever-iconic Meryl Streep, to Cate Blanchett, the favourite of all queer women, this movie is going to be super entertaining to watch. Until December’s D-day, we’ll be re-acquainting ourselves with cast members who have played side by side in previous productions such as Chalamet and Streep in “Little Women”, Blanchett and DiCaprio in “Awiator” and DiCarpio and Hill in “The Wolf of Wall Street” .
