Dustin Diamond (famous by the name ‘Screech’), the actor of Saved by the Bell dies at age 44 of lung cancer.

The 44-year-old actor, Dustin Diamond was prominent for playing Samuel ‘Screech’, in the very popular 1990s US sitcom which was broadcast from August 20, 1989, to May 22, 1993. The show chronicled the story of a group of high school friends and their principal at the fictional Bayside High School in Los Angeles.
Dustin had recently completed the first round of chemotherapy after being diagnosed with lung cancer last month. According to Dustin’s agent, Roger Paul, his condition worsened and deteriorated fast in the last week, and was taken off the breathing machines in an attempt to provide hospice care. Dustin’s girlfriend Tash Jules and another friend were by his side. Roger also added, “Dustin did not suffer. He did not have to lie submerged in pain. For that, we are grateful”.
Saved by the Bell ran from 1989 to 1993 with four seasons and was a global hit. The show received immense love from the audience as it focused on the serious social issues with a lighthearted comedic situations such as Drug use, Women’s rights, remarriage, homelessness, environmental issues and much more.

Co-stars have been paying tribute to Dustin Diamond including Mario Lopez, known to fans of the show as AC Slater, tweeted, “Dustin, you will be missed my man. The fragility of this life is something never to be taken for granted. Prayers for your family will continue on…”

Mario also added a throwback picture with Dustin Diamond with his tweet. Not only Mario, Mark-Paul Gosselaar , who himself insisted that Dustin Diamond was right for the part as he believed Diamond was Screech in real life also tweeted paying tribute to this late actor, “Deeply saddened to hear of the passing of Dustin Diamond, a true comedic genius. My sincere condolences to his family and friends. Looking back at our time working together, I will miss those raw, brilliant sparks that only he was able to produce. A pie in your face, my comrade.”
