What happened to Eddy Kim?

In early March 2019, Eddy Kim was in trouble as he was identified as a member of the ‘Jung Joon Young’s group chat’ accused of distributing illegal video and pornographic videos via chat messenger group KakaoTalk group chat.

Police questioned him on charges of distributing pornography, and his case was referred to the prosecutor. The prosecutor withdrew the case in March 2020, considering that Eddy Kim’s distribution was only once and that he was serious about his actions.
However, it has been confirmed that a shocking photo spread online was posted by the artist which led to the investigation.

However, police have revealed that Eddy Kim did not directly record or distribute illegal images of women, but shared a photo he searched online for the KakaoTalk chat room, which included members Jung Joon Young, Jonghun, and Seungri. The chat room was also reportedly a group chat, not a chat room where illegal media was shared.

At the time, Eddy Kim’s agency Mystic Story said, “Eddy Kim was in the group chat room, but he has never filmed or distributed illegal videos such as hidden cameras.”
