TWO OF KOREA’S WEB SHOWS NOMINATED FOR EMMY AWARDS
On September 23, the International Academy of Television Arts & Sciences announced its nomination for the 2021 Emmy Awards. The most popular Emmy Awards are the Primetime Emmy Awards, presented by the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences and aired on American television. The International Emmy Awards recognise a television program produced and broadcast outside the United States.
The 2021 Emmy Awards announced 44 nominees in 11 categories and 24 countries, including but not limited to Argentina, Brazil, Canada, China, Colombia, Egypt, France, India, Japan, Mexico, New Zealand, Singapore, South Korea, Thailand, and the United Kingdom. Two South Korean nominees for the 2021 International Emmy Awards are both produced by CJ ENM, a major media and entertainment company with content production networks and companies such as Mnet, tvN, OCN, Studio Dragon, and many more.

“It’s okay to not be okay” is nominated for Emmy awards in the category of best mini web series. The show was a blockbuster starring Seo Yeji and Kim Soo Hyun. The show was also announced as the New York Times “Best international shows of 2020”.
KPOP SURVIVAL SHOW I-LAND NOMINATED FOR EMMY
In the Unregistered Entertainment Sector, a survival test program called “LAND,” co-produced by CJ ENM and Big Hit Entertainment (as it was then known), was proposed. “LAND” finally introduced the start of the ENHYPEN boys group, signed under BELIFT LAB, a joint venture between Big Hit (now HYBE) and CJ ENM.
In the TV Movie / Mini-Series category, the play “Right Wrong Wrong,” was produced by Studio Dragon and broadcast on tvN. The drama was broadcast from June to August 2020 and starred Kim Soo Hyun, Seo Ye Ji, Oh Jung Se, and Park Gyu Young in a story about the love between a psych ward caretaker and author of a children’s book who did not want to get involved.
Winners of the 2021 Awards will be announced at a ceremony held in New York City on November 22.
