Euphoria surrounds a group of young adults, but occasionally examines the lives of the adults around them. The main character of the show is Rue, who is an addict who often does not try to stay sober. Still, she takes part in the Narcotics Anonymous (NA)meetings, especially to comfort her mother. When she meets Ali, the recovering addict becomes Rue’s kind of mentor or sponsor.

Focusing on a group of high school classmates – each with their own problems of drug abuse, alcohol, and sex – the HBO drama has drawn its fans into uncontrollable party scenes and shocked adults with a series of young actors who always seem to make the worst decisions.
WHO PLAYS ALI IN EUPHORIA?
52 year old, Colman Domingo plays the role of Ali on HBO MAX’s Euphoria. Domingo’s character Ali meets Rue during a NA meeting during Euphoria Season 1. As a recovering addict himself, Ali sees through Rue’s lies. For example, he knows he no longer drinks when he gets his 60-day character and talks to his NA team in a speech. Ali has never sugarcoated anything he says to Rue in anything and reveals that he has gone through a very dark time.
Euphoria’s special episode, “The trouble don’t always last,” penetrates deep into Ali’s history. Ali grew up surrounded by domestic violence, and as a result, he turned to drugs and alcohol to deal with it. He had a wife and two daughters, but his addiction dominated his family life, which led to heated arguments and even arguments with his wife. As a result, Ali is divorced and separated from his family.
WHAT DID RUE SAY TO ALI IN EUPHORIA?
It’s really hard to see Rue using drugs all the time, despite of promises of staying sober. She lets go of her sobriety, and she damages the lives of her loved ones. In Season 2 alone, Rue has severed ties with a number of people, including his NA sponsor, Ali, and her girlfriend Jules.
After Rue goes to the NA meeting with a suitcase full of drugs, Ali feels something is wrong. So, when the meeting is over, Ali confronts Rue, who tells him that she is carrying school books in the suitcase. Ali sees through her lies and calls her out and Rue, in turn, says a lot of mean things to him which she didn’t really mean. In the following episodes, she is seen apologizing to Ali over the phone.
