On Sunday, January 24, Warner Bros released the highly anticipated trailer of ‘Godzilla vs. Kong’. The thrilling trailer gave fans a peek into the epic showdown that will take place between the two feared and iconic monsters – Godzilla and King Kong, set to feature in the film. The movie directed by Adam Wingard, and is a sequel to ‘Godzilla: King of the Monsters’ (2019) and ‘Kong: Skull Island’ (2017).
‘Godzilla vs Kong’ stars Alexander Skarsgård and Millie Bobby Brown, and promises to be a feast for the eyes of all it’s action loving fans, especially with a peek into massive battle between Godzilla and Kong.
The last time fans saw the two fight was in 1962’s ‘King Kong vs. Godzilla’ where Kong had won. This time, the showdown looks even more exciting.
What does the trailer show?
The trailer starts with the city crumbling, and people running around to save their lives, hinting that a great danger is upon them. As we proceed the trailer, it becomes clear that the chaos is a result of the most feared monster, Godzilla being back. “It’s our only chance, we have to take it,” geologist Nathan Lind (Alexander Skarsgård) says at the start of the ‘Godzilla vs Kong’ trailer. We see a drugged and chained Kong being carried on a vessel, before he arrives at a facility where he’s again changed up. Lind then adds: “We need Kong. The world needs him.”.
Apart from the battle, the trailer also hints to a deeper exploration into Kong’s backstory. It begins with Kong’s protectors attempting to find Kong’s real home. They soon realise that Jia, an orphan child, is the only one who can communicate with him, and has a sort of connection with Kong. However, their quest to help Kong get back to his home is interrupted by none other than the raging monster – Godzilla.
In the trailer, we see Kong and Godzilla come face-to-face as they are seen having a fighting sequence above the ocean. Godzilla with his undefinable strength fires back using his atomic heat beam when he is knocked by Kong into the water. The animosity between the monstrous icons instigated by unseen forces is explained and an important reason behind it is also made apparent for the viewers. The epic clash between them is just the start of a mystery which stays hidden deep within the core of the planet.
Fans are extremely excited to see this highly anticipated movie, to say the least. Their excitement was only rose after the trailer was released
