HYBE announces a global pop girl group debut
On November 4 at 10 a.m. in KST, HYBE hosted a “2021 HYBE Business Business” with their official YouTube channel. During the conference, the label shared the present and future of the HYBE business model that grows under the theme “Boundless”. HYBE has defined “Unlimited” as an unlimited expansion in four areas: country and region, industry and business, current and future fan experience, and a strong artists portfolio.
Earlier in April, HYBE merged with Scooter Braun news company Ithaca Holdings. Bang Si Hyuk and Scooter Braun made the appearance at the conference outlining their future plans and the solidarity between all their branches in different countries and regions.
One of the topics discussed was the launch of new groups in the United States and Japan. HYBE is organizing the Global Artist Debut Project in those two countries. For the first time, HYBE America is launching its plans to launch a girl band in partnership with Geffen Records under Universal Music Group (UMG) to find the world’s leading female artists.
HYBE America will use the U.S. local training program. which will combine the full capabilities of HYBE and UMG. With the start of the group, HYBE America will incorporate their growth process and key initiatives that transcend national, cultural, and artistic boundaries. HYBE and Geffen Records girls’ international auditions worldwide will receive applications until 28 November.
HYBE To Launch Japanese boy group led by former ‘I-Land’ contestants
HYBE Japan also shared their Global Debut Project for a group of boys comprising four former “LAND” competitors: K, Nicholas, EJ, and Taki. The selection of a label for additional members to join the “& Audition” testing program will be broadcast in 2022 via YouTube. The members of the boys’ group will grow up to become world-class artists with their own training program, music production, management, and marketing skills.
In addition, HYBE Japan will develop Japan-based businesses from the field business, such as fan cafe management, to IP-based artist businesses such as local businesses, MD businesses, and copyright management.
