Indian Pro Music League (IPML)- a buffet for music lovers and the new family time on weekends. The brand-new concept of a music reality show is getting an overwhelming response from all over the country. With the number of viewers and love the show is attracting, can it be a new festival in India like IPL? Well, here’s all the instances from episode 6- March 13, 2021.
IPML Episode 6, First innings: The competition by far
IPML episode 6, the competition started with the Supermatch of the first innings where all 6 teams were supposed to perform in spotlight and super rounds. After the supermatch came league matches where Smule Delhi Jammers competed with WeSafe India Punjab Lions in the first league match. The second league match was played by Divya Bhaskar Gujarat Rockers and Nilkamal Mumbai Warriors. Bengal Tigers V/S UP Dabbangs was the third and last match of the first innings.
The episode began with the disclosure of the results of the first innings. The results are based upon public voting and the votes are converted into points. The winner of the league match gets 2 points and the losing team gets 0. In supermatch, the team with highest votes gets 3 points. The team with second highest votes gets 2 points and the team with third highest votes gets 1 point. The bottom three teams get 0. Points of the league matches and the supermatch add up to make the scoreboard.

Mumbai Warriors is doing exactly to IPML what Mumbai Indians do to IPL, DOMINATING THE SCOREBOARD. UP Dabbangs stands at 2nd position with 3 points. Third position is shared by Gujarat Rockers and Delhi Jammers with 2 points. Team Punjab and Team Bengal were unable to grab any points in the first innings. But the competition has just started, let’s see what happens ahead.
IPML episode 6: The powerful beginning of the Second Innings
The cast of the film “Roohi”- Rajkumar Rao, Jhanvi Kapoor and Varun Sharma were the special guests to grace the show. In the second innings, the teams depict the journey of music in the past 60 years with their singing prowess. Table toppers Mumbai Warriors were the first to perform for the SUPER ROUND.

Mumbai Warriors took everybody to the black & white era of 60s. Grammy awards nominee Shilpa Rao began the performance with Hemant Kumar’s “Yeh Nayan Dare Dare” from the movie “Kohraa (1964).” Then came the captain Kailash Kher and new voice of the team Rachit with SD Burman’s “Mere Sajan Hai Us Paar” from the movie “Bandini (1963).” The performance came out to be very soothing. Javed Ali and Shaan praised them. Team Bengal Tigers were now ready to jump on stage to show the Disco era of 80s in their SUPER ROUND.

Captain Shaan, Akriti Kakar and the new voice Mismi sang the fusion of multiple disco hits which included “Disco 82,” “Disco Deewane,” “Disco Dancer,” “Raat Baaki Baat Baaki,” and “Ek Haseena Thi.” Nobody couldn’t stop their legs, everybody danced on their seats during the performance. Now, it was the time for the Team Gujarat Rockers to show the Rocking Era of 70s in their SUPER ROUND.

Captain Javed beautifully began with his bit- Mohammed Rafi’s “Aaj Mausam Bada Beimaan Hai.” Then came the melodious Bhoomi Trivedi with Aasha Bhosle’s “Aaj Ki Raat Koi Aane Ko Hai.” Followed by Javed Ali’s tough and struggling life in Bombay. Everybody was emotional after watching the inspirational story of the captain. Now, it was Mika’s turn to bring his own era, 2000s. The party king Mika Singh with his Team Punjab Lions performed next in the SUPER ROUND.

Whole Team Punjab- Mika Singh, Asees Kaur, Rupali Jagga and Shehnaaz rocked the stage with their performance on Mika’s anthem “Singh is King.” Then Delhi Jammers came up on stage brining 90s ki masti in their SUPER ROUND.

Neha Bhasin gave a sizzling performance on “Saat Samundar Paar,” followed by Sajid Khan, Ankush and Pryanshi coming up singing “O Laal Dupatte Wali” and “Main To Raste Se Jaa Raha Tha.” Neha recreated the viral pawri meme after the explosive performance. She said- “Ye mai hu, ye meri team hai aur yaha sabko mirchi lag rahi hai kyuki humari pawri ho rahi hai.” Then UP Dabbangs brought up the last performance of the SUPER ROUND- the era of modern love 2010s.

Payal Dev beautifully sang “Hame Pucho Kya Hota Hai Bina Dil Ke Jiye Jana” from the movie “Marjavaan” and then super melodious captain Ankit Tiwari performed Arijit Singh’s blockbuster song “Tum Hi Ho” from “Aashiqui 2.” Almost everybody stood and clapped for this mesmerizing performance. With this Super round came to an end, and it was time for the SUPER SPOTLIGHT.
IPML EPISODE 6: SPOTLIGHT ROUND
Six pro singers- one from each team came for this round to take us on a journey of 60 years in 10 minutes. Rupali Jagga from Punjab Lions began the round with her bold voice, sang Aasha Bhosle’s “Raat Akeli Hai, Bhuj Gaye Diye” from the movie “JEWEL THIEF (1967).” Next was Ankush from the Team Delhi Jammers- energetically performed “hai agar dushman dushman zamana.” Then came Purva Mantri from Mumbai Warriors and gave a remarkable performance, she sang “Inteha Ho Gayi Intezaar Ki” from the movie “Sharaabi.”
Everybody got goosebumps when Rising Star Hemant Brijwasi from the Team Gujarat Rockers performed Sukhwinder Singh’s “Ruth Aa Gayee Re.” You must not miss Idol Salman Ali’s (Team UP Dabbangs) phenomenal “Jeeya Dhadak Dhadak Jaaye” in the spotlight round. Rawstar Rituraj from the Team Bengal Tigers wrapped up the round with the power packed song- “Zinda” from the movie “Bhaag Milkha Bhaag.”
