James Gunn spills beans for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3: “I do love the idea of more Stakar and pals”

Guardians of the Galaxy, James Gunn

The director and writer of the Guardians of Galaxy, James Gunn, took to twitter to answer a fan’s theory regarding the post credits scene from Guardians of the Galaxy Vol.2, and how it will matter in the upcoming movie of the same franchise.

Will there be Guardians of Galaxy Volume 3?

Today on Twitter a Fan asked James (Director of Guardians of Galaxy or The Suicide Squad 2021), “Was this post credits scene supposed to follow up to a ravager solo entry headed by Stallone, only later to be scrapped for whatever reason? Or does is it still going somewhere” a fan asked Gunn on Twitter

Gunn replied to the tweet by saying: “All the post credits of Vol 2 are possibilities but not necessarily promises. They are all things I would like to see happen, but I certainly don’t have the time to do them all myself. But I do love the idea of more Stakar & pals.”

Post-Credits of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol.2

In the post-credits, we see Kraglin taking up Yondu’s telekinetic arrow and control-fin. Ravager’s leader Stakar Ogord is seen reuniting with his ex-teammates and Groot has grown into a teenager. Ayesha creates a new artificial being with whom she plans to destroy the Guardians, naming him Adam, and a group of uninterested Watchers abandon their informant, who is discussing his experiences on Earth.

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol.3 Cast

A lot has changed for the Guardians in the aftermath of Avengers: Endgame. Despite Gamora (Zoe Saldana) being alive again in MCU, things will be different since she is the Gamora from the past, and doesn’t have the history with the rest of the Guardians.

Star-Lord/Peter Quill (Chris Pratt), Drax (Dave Bautista), Mantis (Pom Klementieff) and Groot (voiced by Vin Diesel), who all returned after disappearing for 5 years due to Thanos’ snap, will be rejoining Rocket (with the voice of Bradley Cooper and the motion capture talents of Sean Gunn) and Nebula (Karen Gillan).

Pop singer Miley Cyrus had a little cameo in the second movie, in which she did the voicing of ‘Mainframe’. Gunn re-tweeted a post which asked “Who remembers Miley voicing Mainframe in Guardians of the Galaxy 2?”, and replied a simple “Me. CC”.

To Gunn’s tweet, Cyrus replied with her dialogue in the movie: “I miss you guys so much”.

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol.3 is set to be released in 2023.
