The trailer that the DC fans have been so eagerly waiting for is here! HBO Max has finally released the full trailer for Zack Snyder’s Justice League on Sunday, February 14.
Zack Snyder had left Justice League during it’s post-production due to personal reasons, and Joss Whedon had to step in and complete the film. Whedon altered the creation a bit, which led to fans demanding from Warner Bros. to release Snyder’s original version. Fans didn’t know if they’ll get to see Snyder’s vision for the original 2017 film, but are extremely thrilled now that the trailer has been released. The four hour cut will be released on HBO Max on March 18.
What does the Trailer show?
The trailer begins with narration from Jesse Eisenberg’s Lex Luthor, who will also appear in the new version, as he warns of the battle to come. We also get a look into the epic battle that will take place between the Justice League and the Darkseid (Ray Porter), who was intended to be the main villain of the first cut of the film, but ultimately was not included. The clip also ends with a conversation between Jared Leto’s Joker and Ben Affleck’s Batman. “We live in a society where honour is a distant memory,” The Joker says, before turning to look at Batman. “Isn’t that right, Batman?”
Snyder conducted additional filming for his version, and brought back Henry Cavill, Ben Affleck, and Ray Fisher. Amber Heard and Joe Manganiello were also brought back to shoot additional footage and, to the fans’ pleasant surprise, Snyder even got Jared Leto to reprise his role as Joker from David Ayer’s Suicide Squad.
The film will be set after the events of Batman vs Superman: Dawn of Justice, and will see Batman (Ben Affleck), Superman, (Henry Cavill), Wonder Woman (Gal Gadot), Aquaman (Jason Momoa), The Flash (Ezra Miller) and Cyborg (Ray Fisher) teaming up to save the world from catastrophe as Darkseid, Steppenwolf (Ciarán Hinds) and DeSaad (Peter Guinness) threaten to destroy the planet.
