Chanyeol Cheated on his former girlfriend: SM Takes Legal Action For False Rumors About EXO’s Chanyeol, Perpetrators Forwarded To Prosecution

SM Entertainment has been taking legal action against the netizens who spread rumors about EXO’s Chanyeol. “We sued those who spread false rumors about Chanyeol”. Also in this year EXO member Chanyeol has finished his five weeks of basic military training and received an award. Chanyeol enlisted in the military on March 29 as part of his mandatory duty as a Korean citizen. He will serve as an active-duty soldier for 18 months. Despite false accusations on him and his enlistment in military, EXO Chanyeol’s ‘The Box’ ranks Number 1 at the movie box.

Exo’s Chanyeol’s Agency Releases Statement against False Rumours

On May 17, SM Entertainment revealed, “We sued those who spread false rumors about Chanyeol, and as far as we know, the police have identified those who were accused and forwarded them to the prosecution with a recommendation for indictment.”

They further stated, “This is just one of the cases of infringement on our artists’ rights, which the agency is consistently taking legal action for. We are taking legal action against the spread of false rumors, insult, and more regarding our artists, including Chanyeol.”

What were accusations on EXO’s Chanyeol?

Last October, Chanyeol was embroiled in a controversy about his personal life. At the time, SM Entertainment announced that they had no official statement. Four months later, Chanyeol wrote a letter addressed to his fans where he alluded to the controversy.

For the unversed, in October, EXO Chanyeol was accused of ‘cheating’ by a social media user who claimed she is Chanyeol’s former girlfriend and while being with her, the rapper had been dishonest and he allegedly cheated on her multiple times which led to her heartbreak.

While Chanyeol didn’t respond to the rumors right away, later in February 2021, the K-pop artist shared a heartfelt letter with fans apologizing for causing concerns: “I thought a lot about how I can protect the precious hearts of EXO-L and how I can make it up to you as well, and I reflected on how I will not cause you worry again.”

Exo’s Chanyeol Completes Five Weeks of Basic Training

EXO member Chanyeol has finished his five weeks of basic military training and received an award. Chanyeol enlisted in the military on March 29 as part of his mandatory duty as a Korean citizen. He will serve as an active duty soldier for 18 months.

On May 3, Chanyeol and other recruits who entered on the same date took part in the completion ceremony of their military training under the 9th Infantry Division of the Korean Army.

Chanyeol was given an exemplary award at the ceremony with the certificate stating, “The above person has faithfully performed the duties assigned to him with dedication and service to his country, especially during the 21-6 recruit education and training, the spirit of sacrifice and service he has shown has set an example for others, hence, this certificate is awarded to him,” according to Twitter account NoLoeyNoLife.

Ahead of his enlistment news, Chanyeol recently wrote a letter opening up to fans and expressing gratitude. On February 24, Chanyeol shared a post on EXO’s fan community. He mentions receiving letters from fans on his November 27 birthday and also being congratulated on the ninth anniversary of the day he was revealed as a member of EXO, which was on February 23, 2012.

He will be the fifth EXO member to enlist following Xiumin and D.O. who have already been discharged and Suho and Chen who are currently serving.

EXO Chanyeol’s ‘The Box’ ranks Number 1 at the movie box

The much-anticipated movie of Chanyeol, called ‘The Box’ released on March 24 and raked in attention from the fans. The teaser trailer was the biggest surprise and the most curious part – which had Chanyeol sing a cover of the award-winning singer, Billie Eillish’s song, Bad Guy. His role in the movie is of a singer who can’t sing without a box on his head. Hence, the very fascinating name!

The movie is produced by Studio Take- a subsidiary of entertainment biggie Spackman Entertainment Group- directed by Yang Jung Woong, the film revolves around the life and journey of an artist- a musician played by Chanyeol and a once popular producer played by Secret Healers star Cho Dal Hwan.

The story takes the viewers on a journey where they both meet and support and encourage each other to be better, to live life better. Especially when Chaneyeol’s character suffers with a dilemma – he can’t sing without a box on his head.
