Stone Music Entertainment: Home to Davichi, Eric Nam, and other artists, Stone Music Entertainment has shut down. On April 20, Sports Kyunghyang reported that Stone Music Entertainment applied to close its business on April 8, adding that a source related to CJ ENM stated, “CJ ENM is working on reorganizing its sub-labels for efficiency.” In response, CJ ENM announced, “We have liquidated Stone Music, Davichi’s record label. We have done so to heighten efficiency in management and provide more effective services to our artists. Stone Music will continue to operate as a music distribution brand.”

Stone Music Entertainment shuts down

Artists managed by Stone Music Entertainment included g.o.d’s Son Ho Young, SG Wannabe’s Kim Yong Jun, and Kim Jin Ho, Davichi, Eric Nam, Roy Kim, and TO1. It is presumed that they will be moved to another label. CJ ENM’s sub-labels include AOMG, H1GHR Music, MMO Entertainment, Swing Entertainment, and Off The Record Entertainment.

The Entertainment company stated, “K-pop is at the center of the world’s attention right now. In order to ensure its longevity, we must keep introducing new talent. Medium to small companies and large companies should work together to debut more artists. Stone Music and n.CH Entertainment are working together to debut a new group in the second half of the year. Our group is set to be called TOO.”

Davichi forecast an impending doom in the Just Hug Me teaser video

K-drama OST queens Davichi are all set to make a comeback with their new digital single, Just Hug Me. On April 8, Davichi dropped the teaser video for their upcoming digital single, Just Hug Me. The talented duo of female singers have lent their voices to some of our favourite K-dramas like Big (2012), Iris II (2013), It’s Okay, That’s Love (2014), Descendants of the Sun (2016) and Moon Lovers: Scarlet Heart Ryeo (2016).

Last month, Davichi announced that they will be making a comeback in April. The talented duo released multiple concept photos and teaser images and upped fans’ excitement. Now, we have a brand new teaser video. The music video depicts the story of a couple in love as they spend time together. There are sweet instances of them feeding each other, savouring each other’s company and being goofy around one another. But, there are moments of hurt and tears as we see grief and heartbreak on their faces. Whether it is a happy ending for the couple or not, we need to find out!

This will mark Davichi’s first comeback in over a year. Besides their super-successful K-drama OSTs, Davichi has released three studio albums and six extended plays to date. Their style can be defined as pop-rock and R&B. Davichi previously released their third studio album &10 on January 25 with the title track Days Without You.

Davichi top music charts with the first comeback after a year

Female pop duo Davichi released their new song Just Hug Me through various online music sites at 6 pm KST on April 12. It marked their comeback after a year and four months since the release of Dear. in 2019. During this hiatus, Davichi continued its musical strides as singers of various drama OSTs like Crash Landing on YouThe King: Eternal Monarch, and Start-Up, and the remake of late Kim Hyun Sik‘s My Love by My Side.

As of April 13, by 9 am KST, the new song is known to have perched at the top of real-time charts on Korean music streaming platforms, Bugs and Genie. The song leaped four positions to reach #11 on MelOn and five positions to reach #13 on Flo music charts.

Davichi’s new single is a medium-tempo ballad song that contains a message saying that the moment the lovers meet again after a breakup, without any excuses or words, they wish to warmly hug with a loving heart. With Davichi’s ballad’s unique and signature lightness, lyrical melody, musical instrumentation, and deep and refreshing vocals harmonized with their unique color and sensibility, the song provides a warmer and more mature sensibility to the public. Kang Min Kyung and Lee Hae Ri participated in the writing work, expressing various emotions such as regret, sincerity, and change of mind in the lyrics.
