itzy makes another fierce comeback

ITZY has made their long-awaited return!

On April 30 at 1 p.m. KST, the girl group released their new album “GUESS WHO” along with the music video for the title track. The supremely talented and stunning quintet has made a thunderous comeback with their new album, Guess Who and its accompanying title track, Mafia In The Morning, which is co-produced, written and composed by JYP Entertainment’s founder J.Y Park himself! Other tracks include Sorry Not Sorry, Kidding Me, Tennis, Shoot and Wild Wild West.

ITZY’s Mafia In The Morning

“Mafia In the morning” is composed by LYRE, Park Jin Young, earattack, and KASS, and the lyrics were written by Park Jin Young, KASS, danke, and LYRE. The song expresses confidence in secretly stealing someone’s heart, comparing it to a mafia game.

Mafia In The Morning is a slick, stylish and smooth music video akin to a game of Mafia. ‘High-fashion’, ‘sleek dance moves’ and ‘eclectic mix of sounds’ are the three components that make for a ‘K-pop Noir’ and ITZY nails it to the tee. Mafia In the Morning is composed by LYRE, J.Y Park, earattack, and KASS, and the lyrics are written by J.Y Park, KASS, danke, and LYRE. The song plays out like a challenge to a potential lover as if to say, “I will steal your heart, stop me if you can”. The music video is catchy, oozing with charm and confidence.

ITZY’s Guess Who: Guess Who had surpassed 260,000 stock pre-orders

Meanwhile, ITZY has already set a new personal record with their upcoming mini-album, Guess Who. Guess Who had surpassed 260,000 stock pre-orders, achieving the group’s highest number of stock pre-orders for an album to date. Well, it is only onwards and upwards for ITZY!

“Mafia in the Morning” is the new album’s lead track written and composed by JYP founder Park Jin-young. It is an abbreviation for an inevitable morning and likened the message “I will approach you with my feelings veiled away and take the heart of my loved one” to a mafia game.

“Members belong to the MZ generation, and I think it’s because fans who live together in youth sympathize with our expressions and messages,” Yeji said. “It’s an album that’s wilder and bolder than before. You can see ITZY’s visuals and emotions changing over time and space.”

The five-member band has earned the title of “Super Rookie” with hit songs such as “DALLA DALLA,” “ICY,” and “WANNABE.” However, Yeji thinks there’s a long way to go. “If there’s anything I want to accomplish carefully, I’d like to hear that ITZY always exceeds expectations.”

Yuna revealed her will to show ITZY’s potential and limitlessness. Chaeryeong said ITZY would work hard to become a group suitable for such modifiers as “Representative icon of MZ generation” and “Girl group representing 4th generation.” She wants to get a different modifier such as “Fan shooter” or “Representative K-pop performer” who burns spirits.

ITZY Released a song called “MIDZY” for their fans

JYP Entertainment’s premiere 4th gen K-pop group, ITZY, suddenly dropped a song  for MIDZYs, the fandom name of the group. On the poster was a tracklist of two songs and dates. According to reports, the dates alluded to ITZY’s first-ever worldwide fan meet that is online.

Commonly in the South Korean entertainment industry, entertainers who show their unending love and appreciation for their fans are a common sight. But there are others who go the extra mile to show much they love their fanbase. For ITZY, they did this by surprising MIDZYs with a song that is dedicated to them.
