MONSTA X’s I.M’s first solo digital mini album is a hit!
According to the global music streaming platform iTunes on February 20 KST, I.M’s mini album “DUALITY” that was released on February 19 topped iTunes Top Albums charts around the globe. The album has 5 songs and the recently released music video of the song God Damn has IM questioning true happiness while he is seen in a disturbed state throughout the video.
Upon its release, “DUALITY” attracted a lot of attention from music fans around the world, and it instantly topped the charts, beating albums by world-renowned pop artists such as Ariana Grande, Mogwai, Adele and Coldplay.
In addition, the album took No. 1 in 18 regions around the world, including Brazil, Chile, Hong Kong, and Russia and succeeded in drawing popular global responses on the Worldwide iTunes Song chart. The title track “God Damn” entered the top 10 in Amazon’s Best-selling Digital Song chart.
On domestic music charts, five tracks in the album, including “God Damn” ranked from No. 1 to No. 6 on Bugs, and all the songs successfully entered Melon’s 24Hits chart.
ALBUM PREVIEW:
The album was announced by Monsta X’s IM and Starlight entertainment on February 7, 2021, with its first poster. The band’s official Instagram handle wrote in the caption, “I.M FIRST SOLO DIGITAL MINI ALBUM <DUALITY> 2021.02.19 FRI 2 PM (KST) COMING SOON”. After which, the tracklist was revealed on February 10, 2021. The 1st and 2nd concept photos of the album were released on February 14 and February 15, respectively.
Along with, God Damn, the mini-album also includes the songs, Howlin, Burn, Happy To Die, and Flower-ed.
