Netflix’s upcoming Bollywood shows: Netflix announces 41 titles: Fabulous Lives 2, Delhi Crime 2, Taapsee Pannu’s Haseen Dillruba in pipeline

Netflix has lined up 40 plus originals in the fifth year of its launch in India. From the second season of Richie Mehta-directed Delhi Crime to the second season of Kota Factory, here is the complete slate of Netflix India’s upcoming releases in 2021.

Netflix India announced a big slate of releases on Wednesday for 2021, all from different genres and languages. Some of the titles include Delhi Crime Season 2, Jamtara 2, Kota Factory 2, Ye Kaali Kaali Ankhaein, Little Things 4, and Mismatched Season 2.

The release of the very much acclaimed festival winner Bombay Rose, Kapil Sharma’s web show, and Sanya Malhotra’s movie about a young widow Pagglait are announced along with the other titles.

Netflix India announced the new releases through their official Twitter account with a teaser along with an exciting hashtag “#AbMenuMeinSabNew”.

Karan Johar’s Ajeeb Dastan

Filmmaker Karan Johar, who will be producing Fatima Sana Shaikh Starrer Ajeeb Dastan, shared his thoughts about the digital streaming platform. He said “We were very proud of the film Bombay Talkies. But we realized that the content is not ‘in your face commercial’, it’s bound to affect the box office. The film was loved by the audience but the report card said flop.” He added that the impact Netflix had with Love Stories helped him look at the platform with the vision of a filmmaker. “Subsequently it was a digital revolution.

The new shows which were announced Wednesday included Madhuri Dixit starrer Finding Anamika, which will be presented by Karan Johar’s Dharmatic and Manoj Bajpayee’s web series Ray. Decoupled featuring Madhavan and Surveen Chawla, and Amol Parashar’s Feels like Ishq were also announced by the streaming giant.

Aranyak

This Raveena Tandon starrer is a mysteriously intriguing story set in Himachal. This is going to be the Mohra actress’s digital debut. Tandon shared her thoughts about her Netflix flick “My character’s name is Kasturi Dogra. Kasturi struggles to balance her personal and professional life, like many women. This is her story.”

Finding Anamika

Starring Madhuri Dixit Nene, Sanjay Kapoor, Manav Kaul, Lakshvir Saran, Suhasini Muley, and Muskkaan Jafari, Finding Anamika explores the story of a global superstar, wife, and mom who suddenly goes missing without a trace. Directed by Karishma Kohli and Bejoy Nambiar, the web series is a suspense drama.

Yeh Kaali Kaali Ankhein

The official description of the Sidharth Sengupta directorial reads, “Think of the most dreaded villain! What if he has a daughter who truly, deeply, madly falls in love with you? What if you don’t love her back? What if you are in love with someone else? How will you say no and get out of the situation? After all, quite like her father, she’s not likely to take ‘no’ for an answer. A romantic simpleton finds himself in the middle of this crossfire in Yeh Kaali Kaali Ankhein, a dark comical pulpy desi thriller about three things that matter the most in the country- paisa, taqat aur pyaar!!!” The cast includes Tahir Raj Bhasin, Shweta Tripathi, Anchal Singh, Saurabh Shukla, Surya Sharma, Brijendra Kala, Arunoday Singh and others.

Pagglait

Pagglait is a Sanya Malhotra starrer that talks about a young widow who is unable to feel any sort of grief about her husband’s demise. She is a target of comments about her strange behavior and she embarks on a journey to find out what went wrong with her. The movie will start streaming on Netflix on March 12.

Dhamaka

Directed by Ram Madhvani, Dhamaka stars Kartik Aaryan in the lead role. The recently released teaser suggests that Dhamaka’s central plotline is about a ‘star’ news anchor who struggles to keep it together. The collaboration of Aaryan and Madhvani is interesting because both are associated with movies that have drastically different sensibilities. Dhamaka also features Amruta Subhash in a pivotal part. Its official synopsis reads, “A frustrated ex-news anchor is given another chance to go live on prime time television when a terrorist calls him with a bomb threat. Little does he know that this call will change his life and throw him into a fast-paced game of betrayal.”

Sardar Ka Grandson

Arjun Kapoor and Rakul Preet Singh’s upcoming family entertainer Sardar Ka Grandson will soon be available to stream on Netflix. Also starring Neena Gupta and Aditi Rao Hydari, the film has been directed by Nikkhil Advani. It has been produced by Bhushan Kumar and Krishan Kumar. Kapoor had recently shared the news on his social media with a post that read, “Gather your parents and grandparents for this one, Sardar ka Grandson is coming soon to @netflix_in.”

Meenakshi Sunderashwar

The official synopsis of the movie reads, “What’s in a name? A lot, as Meenakshi and Sundareshwar would express in their upcoming Netflix film, Meenakshi Sundareshwar.” Sanya was last seen in the Netflix movie Ludo. She also has Netflix’s Pagglait under her belt.
