PEAKY BLINDERS: A PREVIEW
A gangster family epic set in 1900s England, centred on a group that sews razor blades into the tops of their hats and its ruthless leader Tommy Shelby. After serving in the British Army during WWI, Thomas Shelby and his brothers return to Birmingham. The show also has well-written, powerful female characters, a candid look at the effects of war on Britain’s young men, and a career-best performance by Cork actor Cillian Murphy in the lead role.
Will There Be a Seventh Season of Peaky Blinders?
There will not be a seventh season of Peaky Blinders, despite initial intentions for one. Steven Knight, the show’s creator and writer, said in 2018 that a seventh season was in the works. However, in 2021, he revealed how this had altered owing to the epidemic, as well as Helen McCrory’s death, who played Polly Gray in the series.
Peaky Blinders S6 ending explained *spoilers ahead*
After being diagnosed with tuberculoma, many fans assumed Tommy Shelby would die in the season 6 finale. Tommy, on the other hand, turned out not to be terminally sick after all, and he made it through the last episode. Tommy spent the whole of the final episode planning his suicide. He even detonated a bomb in his home to create room for new housing for Birmingham’s working class.
Tommy realises that his doctor was lying to him and that he never had tuberculoma in the first place. The episode ended with Tommy riding away from his blazing funeral trailer, which Curly had set on fire since he thought Tommy was dead.
i thought i’d feel distraught and upset but i actually feel so at peace and content. this was a beautiful episode with such a poetic ending. it definitely feels like the beginning of something, not the end. #peakyblinders
