Bollywood actress Richa Chadha is known to speak out about several things, be it in the movie industry, politics, or in response to the hatred of internet trolls. She recently fell heavily on a restaurant in Delhi for refusing entry to a woman wearing a saree. That’s it,” you could hear the staff.

Richa Chadha furious at Delhi restaurant for not allowing woman in sari – denouncing our traditional clothes

A video shared online shows a woman arguing with restaurant workers in Delhi who refused her entry for wearing a saree. Richa Chadha took to her official Twitter handle and shared the video along with a note that read: “This snobbery- denouncing our traditional clothes, looking down upon our own languages is the residue of post-colonisation trauma. It also creates a fertile breeding ground for fascism that exploits this very trauma. The Sari is smart, your policy isn’t! #SariNotSorry #Aquila.”

Richa Chadha expressed her anger at a viral video in which a Delhi restaurant ‘Aquila’ refused a woman entry because she was wearing a sari. The actress tweeted: “The Sari is smart, your policy isn’t!” This irked Internet users who accused the restaurant as “illogical”.

Netizens also took to Twitter to vent their anger at the restaurant

The restaurant also witnessed heat waves from internet users. One Twitter user wrote: “An Indian calling Indian attire un-smart. It couldn’t be anything more shameful”. Another tweet: “This is the reason why India has been under foreign rule for over a thousand years and is being exported all over the world as workers / slaves. They are good at mental or physical slavery.”

Another said, “seriously. Such restaurants should not even exist in Independent India. I’m sure the license has to be canceled for restaurants / clubs that oppose ethnic clothing. ”

The incident became disproportionate when internet users backed the woman and went to Zomato as an act of rebellion to give the restaurant low reviews. This prompted Zomato to issue a statement on the restaurant’s website that read: “This restaurant has received a lot of media coverage due to recent events. We carefully monitor all reviews to make sure they adhere to our content guidelines. “

Meanwhile, on the professional front, Richa Chadha was last seen in the Voot’s Candy internet thriller starring Ronit Roy. She has another project lined up, Six Suspects with Scam 1992 Pratik Gandhi fame.
