One of the 2021 blockbuster K-Dramas, River Where The Moon Rises won the best drama series award at the Korean Broadcasters Association Awards (KBS) this year. The series went through a male lead change in the middle when Ji Soo’s role of the male lead was given to Na In Woo who was also seen in another hit drama MR Queen. Read on to know more.

River Where The Moon Rises Wins Best Drama

The KBS series “River Where the Moon Rises” won the Best Television Drama Series at the annual awards ceremony hosted by the Korean Broadcasters Association (KBA), according to the organisation on Thursday.

Actress Kim So-hyun, who played the lead role of Princess Pyong Gang in the series, also won the Best Female Actor award and popularity.

Success is very important as the series faced some challenges during production when actor Ji Soo, who played the lead role on On Dal, dropped out of the series after admitting that he was a bully during his school days. Actor Na In-woo has taken his place.

In the newly launched category of the New Media program, SBS Digital News Lab’s “MMTG- Civilization Express” took home the award for its unique concept and performance of the show and producer and emcee Jaejae.

Best Male Actor went to actor Chun Ho-jin for his role as a gay but loving father in the KBS series “Once Again.” The funniest man went to Yoo Jae-suk to find his celebrities on MBC’s show “Hangout with Yoo.” Excellent Kim Sook received the Best Female Entertainer award for her role as an emcee in the KBS drama “Boss in the Mirror.”

The Korean Broadcasting Awards honour the country’s leading television programs, comedians and actors. For the second year in a row, the event was held outside the audience due to the Covid-19 epidemic. The event will be recorded and will be broadcast on the BBC on September 10.
