After five long years, Singer- songwriter Bruno Mars is finally dropping an album and we are not calm. Bruno Mars, along with Anderson.Paak announced a new joint project called Silk Sonic.
The first single of the album will be dropping next Friday on March 5, with the rest of the album dropping sometime later, as a date for it is yet to be announced. Mars and Paak made a whole album together, featuring Parliament Funkadelic bassist and funk star Bootsy Collins as a “special guest host.”
“We locked in and made an album. The band’s called Silk Sonic. First song drops next Friday 3/5,” Mars wrote alongside a concert poster of the two.
Paak also shared the announcement on his official account. “We made an album! Y’all get the first song next friday 3/5,” he wrote excitedly.
Bruno Mars’s last album, ’24K Magic’ was released in 2016, which won him six Grammy’s at the 60th Grammy Annual Awards. He also released a single in July 2019, titled “Blow”, featuring Ed Sheeran and Chris Stapleton.
Bruno Mars and Anderson.Paak toured together in 2017, and the same year, they reportedly worked on material with Disclosure and Nile Rodgers. Anderson.Paak’s ‘Ventura’ came out in 2019.
