“Sit down you fool”, Kangana Ranaut responds to ‘Rihanna’s Tweet’ on Farmer’s Protest in Delhi

Kangana Ranaut responded to pop star Rihanna’s tweet regarding the Farmer’s protest and instantly faced a backlash on Twitter.

Earlier this day, famous pop singer Rihanna had extended her support to the farmers protesting on the borders of India’s capital against the three agriculture laws introduced by the Central government last year and asked why people were not talking about it.

Taking to Twitter, the 32-year-old pop star, who has 100 million followers, shared a news story by CNN on the internet shutdown in several districts of Delhi’s neighboring state Haryana. After the clash took place between the protestors and the police on 26th January, during the ‘tractor rally’, mobile internet services were suspended in Delhi’s border areas at protest sites, including at Ghazipur border, Singh border, in an attempt to cripple the movement.

After Rihanna’s tweet of urging people to talk more about the protestors started to get viral, Actor Kangana Ranaut went all out with her anger and lashed out at the internationally famous artist for her tweet showing support to the farmers.

Ranaut called the protestors “terrorists who are trying to divide India” and Rihanna a “fool” in her tweet.

“No one is talking about it because they are not farmers they are terrorists who are trying to divide India so that China can take over our vulnerable broken nation and make it a Chinese colony much like the USA… Sit down you fool, we are not selling our nation like you dummies,” Ranaut tweeted.

This is not the first time the ‘Panga’ actor has expressed her dislike for the farmer’s protest. Previously she was in a feud with actor Diljit Dosanjh, who has been in support of the farmers and the protests. Ranaut also faced widespread criticism for falsely accusing a demonstrator at the farmers’ protest Bilkis Bano, famously known as one of the “Shaheen Bagh dadis” for joining the protest for ₹ 100.

Other celebrities also spoke out after Rihanna

Many people on Twitter have supported and thanked Rihanna for speaking up on the issue.

Climate and Environmental activist, Greta Thunberg also tweeted the same news article as Rihanna did, and wrote, “We stand in solidarity with the #FarmersProtest in India”. 9-year old climate activist Licypriya Kangujam also showed her support.

Canadian YouTuber, comedian, talk show host, and actress Lily Singh replied to Rihanna’s tweet, saying “Yes! Thank you so much, Rihanna. This is a humanity issue! #IStandWithFarmers and this narrative is TIRED,”

The official account of the Human Rights Watch also tweeted in support of the farmers

While we also read a comment on Instagram by Shivam Patil, that “we should file a petition to change Kangana Ranaut’s name to ‘Internet’ so that Central Government bans her too”, isn’t it funny? As the Central government has already banned internet connections near those areas where the protest happened and still happening.
