South Korean Actress Song Yoo Jung Passes Away At 26

K-drama actress Song Yoo-jung has passed away at the age of 26 on 23 January 2021. Known for the MBC series “Make Your Wish” the actress passed away but the cause of her death was not revealed by her agency Sublime Artist. Following a funeral held at the Gangnam Branch of the Seoul Medical Centre, Song’s funeral procession will be held on Monday afternoon.

Song began her career as a cosmetics brand model before moving on to her acting career in 2013. Her first appearance with a supporting role in the romantic drama Golden Rainbow on MBC and later appeared in “School 2017″, part of the long-running School franchise on KBS2. In 2019, she was one of the leads in the web drama “Dear My Name.” Other actors represented by Song’s agency include Parasite star Song Kang-ho, and singer Jung Ji-hoon (aka Rain).

Yoo Jung Passes Away At 26: OFFICIAL STATEMENT

Sublime Artist Agency shared an additional statement about Song Yu Jung’s passing. Read the statement below:

“Actress Song Yu Jung departed this life on January 23, 2021. In accordance with the wishes of her family, the funeral was held quietly, and the funeral procession takes place on January 25.

Song Yu Jung was a friend of ours who always gave us joy with her bright smile, and she was a wonderful actress who acted with heated passion. Please pray for the repose of her soul so that she may rest in peace in a warm place.”

Singer NIve posted a tribute from his Instagram page, writing alongside a picture of a black square: “Yoo, I hope you don’t get sick anymore… thank you for being with me. I’m sorry I couldn’t share your pain… I hope that you will be comfortable and happy in the sky.”

She starred in NIve’s music video for “How Do I”.
