Recently, Prudential Corporation Asia announced that they were launching a collaboration with SuperM. Together, they will be doing a health and wellness campaign titled “We DO Well Together” with the intention to encourage “people across Asia to stay well and healthy, and have fun doing it.”
Super M will participate in a global campaign tackling the Covid-19 pandemic, its company SM Entertainment said on Wednesday. Launched by Global Citizen, an international charity organisation, the campaign titled “Recovery Plan for the World” seeks to help end the pandemic as well as protect the planet, curb the hunger crisis, resume learning everywhere and advance equity for all. Super M will join artistes such as Billie Eilish, Coldplay, Hugh Jackman, Jonas Brothers and Lang Lang in the worldwide initiative that will help finance the activities.
Prudential is proud to be the first regional life insurer to partner with a K-Pop group. The corporation’s chief executive Nic Nacandrou briefly shared how the collaboration came to be. “Prudential and SuperM share a common goal. We want to promote the importance of staying fit and healthy, especially during these times. Together, we want to motivate people to attain wellness in a positive, proactive and fun way.”
Other big-name celebrities participating in the campaign include Billie Elish, Hugh Jackman, Coldplay, Miley Cyrus and Usher. Renowned figures include European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen, President of France Emmanuel Macron, Chancellor of Germany Angela Merkel and U.S. Special Presidential Envoy for Climate John Kerry.
Last April, SuperM participated in the World Health Organization (WHO)’s “Big Event for Mental Health” and joined the star-studded lineup for WHO and Global Citizen’s global benefit concert “One World: Together At Home.” SuperM is made up of members from SM Entertainment’s biggest acts — Taemin of SHINee, Baekhyun and Kai of Exo, Taeyong and Mark of NCT 127 and Lucas and Ten of WayV.
According to SM Entertainment, the M of SuperM stands for “Matrix & Master,” meaning that SuperM will be a “leading group of stars that will give ‘super’ energy to their fans.” The group is the product of a collaboration between Lee Soo-man, the head and mastermind of Korea’s biggest entertainment agency, SM Entertainment, and U.S. music label Capitol Music Group, created in 2019.
Super M has been contributing to a series of global campaigns: Performing at Together at Home”, an online concert hosted by Lady Gaga, World Health Organisation and Global Citizen to raise fund to fight COVID-19; and “The Big Event for Mental Health, ” WHO’s first global online event to promote awareness about mental health care.
SuperM released a statement, explaining the importance of the campaign. Due to the challenges people face globally from the pandemic, they are hoping to overcome the darkness with their positivity. “As the world experiences challenging times due to the pandemic, it is our ambition to spread positive energy and help as many people as possible to achieve not just good physical health, but mental wellbeing as well. We share a common mission with Prudential to help improve people’s wellness and drive optimism in good and bad times. Through ‘We DO Well Together,’ we call on everybody to put in the same energy and spirit as ‘We DO’ to achieve our life goals together.
Prudential and SuperM are planning to host a series of events throughout the year with the common goal of motivating health and wellness. The music video for “we DO” is scheduled to be released on April 4.
