Tandav (TV Series 2021– ) - IMDb

Ali Abbas’s tale is hovering around the silly and dull-witted idea of the dark abyss of politics in which the youth plays a momentous role. Portraying the darkest course of Indian politics, TANDAV stretches towards the powers and manipulation between people at the high level to secure their position.

TANDAV RATING- 2/5

Every criminal drama asks for some dirty, deceitful and blood-shedding work in the plot to be successful. Tandav, in this case, followed the same perception for doing somewhat filthy and criminal work to be successful in the electoral politics, catching the glimpse of the bossy leaders, corrupted and dishonest cops and how can we take no notice of the hypocritic media.

Though silly and dim-witted, Tandav is seen somewhat tolerable and homespun than the other political movies like Rajneeti by Prakash Jha.

Samar Pratap Singh aka Saif Ali Khan, plays the character of the son of a two- term Prime Minister. Critics argue that the makers could have chosen a less stereotypical name than Samar Pratap Singh for their target audiences. Dimple Kapadia’s performance, despite being puffed-up, is considered good by the critics and the audience.

Tandav, in it’s first 5 episodes, is filled with ‘Masala’, which is what the Bollywood audience asks for. More emphasis has been given on the performances of the cast and their gauged punchlines than the storyline, which is considered dull and senseless. Tandav is seen as full-on entertainment with ‘Masala’ web series besides it’s snag and who cares for the tale until and unless it is gleaming and the target audience is filled up with anger and fear on their faces, waiting for the story to take a puzzling turn.
