The teaser for the upcoming thriller movie on Netflix, ‘The Girl on the Train’ is out and will be starring Parineeti Chopra as its lead actress. The film is an adaptation of Paul Hawkins’ bestseller book of the same name, which was published in 2015, and has also had a Hollywood film made on it, starring Emily Blunt.
It’s safe to say, that just the 20-second teaser of the film has left the viewers thrilled and excited to watch the movie.
What is the story?
‘The Girl on the Train’ revolves around an alcoholic woman who watches a couple every day, as she rides a train. She watches them from afar and deeply idolizes them as they seem like the perfect couple to her, until she witnesses something out of ordinary, and falls into a missing person’s case.
“Emily Blunt’s performance in The Girl on the Train had blown my mind and it is a privilege for me to play the character that she has essayed so brilliantly on screen.”, said Parineeti. “The restraint and range she showed as an actor while playing a girl who is troubled and battling herself in the film showed what a fantastic actor she is. When any actor does a remake of a loved film, there are expectations to match the original, if not better it. So, I realize that audience will look at our film and draw comparisons to the original and compare my portrayal of the protagonist vs Emily’s.”
“Parineeti looks intense”
The 20-second teaser shows Parineeti in London, as she is seen playing a very intense character. This Bollywood adaptation is directed by Ribhu Dasgupta, who also directed ‘Bard of Blood’, starring Emraan Hashmi.

‘The Girl on the Train’ was originally supposed to be released in May 2020, but was pushed back due to the pandemic, and will now be released on 26th February 2021.
