Update on Taylor Swift’s tour date: Officially cancels ‘Lover Fest’ in heartfelt apology, I cannot reschedule shows we’ve postponed

Taylor Swift took to her social media to confirm her ‘Lover Fest’ shows won’t be rescheduled. Fans of the singer are disheartened to hear the shocking news.

The ongoing coronavirus pandemic has put a halt to almost everything, with music festivals and various cultural activities facing the brunt of the health crisis. The latest to be impacted by the pandemic is singer-songwriter Taylor Swift’s ‘Lover Fest’ shows.

The 31-year-old singer recently announced that the previously postponed two-city ‘Lover Fest’ tour has been canceled due to the ongoing pandemic.

Due to the on-going Covid-19 pandemic, many singers have had to make changes in their program schedules. When Taylor broke the news, fans were surely disheartened but still empathize with the singer and all the efforts the crew took to prepare the show.

Taylor Swift’s tour Cancels: Message to Fans

Taylor took to Twitter on Friday to share the update in a lengthy heart-wrenching apology message. In the note, she expressed how upset she is for sharing the ‘sad’ news with her fans. Further explaining how she is unable to reschedule the shows since the pandemic is still going on, she humbly apologized to her army of die-hard fans. “Although refunds have been available since we first postponed the Lover Fest shows, many of you hung onto your tickets and I too hung onto the idea that we could reschedule.” Taylor penned.


Taylor continued to talk about how the unprecedented pandemic changed everyone’s plans and that she is unaware of how the ‘touring’ scenario will be in the future.  “I’m so disappointed that I won’t be able to see you in person as soon as I wanted to. I miss you terribly and can’t wait till we can all safely be at shows together again.” Taylor explained. Needless to say, Taylor’s fans are bummed out about the shocking news but are still showing their undying support for the singer in these trying times.

Taylor Swift’s tour date: Lover Fest

‘Lover Fest’ was supposed to take place in Los Angeles and Foxborough, Massachusetts.
Swift opted to forgo a worldwide tour and instead focus on that two-city event and perform at international festivals.

Since the release of the 2019 album ‘Lover’, the singer dropped sister albums titled ‘Folklore’ and ‘Evermore’ in 2020.

The Grammy-winning singer is also set to drop the first re-recording of her albums in April following tensions with her Big Machine Label Group, Scooter Braun, Ithaca Holdings, and Shamrock Holdings – the latter of which currently owns the rights to her masters.

Taylor Swift gave her fans, a gift so precious, it is difficult to express in words. On February 11, she announced the release of her 2008 album with 6 unreleased songs and most importantly, the “Taylor’s Version” of her hit song- “Love Story”. She captioned the picture “I’m thrilled to tell you that my new version of Fearless (Taylor’s Version) is done and will be with you soon. It has 26 songs including 6 never before released songs from the vault. Love Story (Taylor’s Version) will be out tonight.”

Fearless’ (Taylor’s Version) is the first of six albums that Swift is re-releasing. Swift’s second studio album ‘Fearless’ won her album of the year at the Grammys in 2009, making her the youngest artist to ever win the award at the time.

She got us through the pandemic by surprising us with two albums albums ‘Folklore’ and ‘Evermore’. She released a music video of her song “Willow”, the video being so captivating and beautiful.
