Ayanna Williams, who lives in Houston, Texas is the woman with the world’s largest female fingernails, measuring a combined total length of 733.55 cm (24 ft 0.7 in). However, the Texas woman has finally decided to cut off her nails and since 2017, Ayanna has held record for the world’s longest fingernails under Guinsess World Records.
Ayanna used to take the proper precautions to prevent nail damage and maintain her title, so she avoids some household chores like doing the dishes. Ayanna dedicated over 28 years to growing her nails and it took her weeks to paint her nails. Ayanna is a well-known Texan, who gained fame after her name was recorded in thr world’s longesr fingernails under Guinness World Records.

Ayanna Williams is a Texan woman, with the record of World’s Longest Fingernails with the combined total length of 733.55 cm (24 ft 0.7 in). She dedicated over 28 years to growing her nails and weeks to polish them. The Texan woman used to take the proper precautions to prevent nail damage and maintain her title, so she avoids some household chores like doing the dishes.
It also took her more than 2 bottles of nail polish and about 20 hours to do her manicure. However, the Texas woman can finally open the door without any fear as she has finally decided to chop off her nails. Ayanna got her task done at a dermatology office in Fort Worth, Texas, where an electric rotary tool was used for her first nail cut since the early 1990s.
“With or without my nails, I will still be the queen,” Williams said, according to Guinness. She also added, “My nails don’t make me, I make my nails!”

According to Ripley’s Believe It or Not! Ayanna said she plans to only grow her nails about six inches which will display her trimmed nails at its museum in Orlando, Florida.
As a kid, the Texan always loved nails and nail art. She has fond memories of asking her mother to check how long her nails were and if she could paint them certain colours. Apparently, Ayanna has finally made her childhood dreams come true.
“With my movements I have to be very, very careful. So usually in my mind I’m already preparing for the next step that I have to do to make sure that I don’t hurt myself with my nails – or break them. I’m excited about cutting my nails because I’m looking forward to new beginnings”, Ayanna said.
Until now, Ayanna was not able to do some activities, such as washing the dishes and putting sheets on a bed. But now, as she has finally chopped off her nails, she would be able to do it with a lot more ease. She also said that before the final cut, she received lots of different reactions from others who would see her nails in public, but most were positive and supportive – especially ones from kids.
“It’s gonna be awesome. It’s going to be a like a wax of myself even though it’s just my nails. I can’t wait to see that, for real. I’m going to be grinning from ear to ear. Just really think about it, it’s amazing”, Ayanna added.
