Zayn Malik's New Album : Most Personal Project Yet

Zayn Malik, the Dusk To Dawn singer, is kicking off 2021 with new music – an entire album of new material, to be exact! According to Pop Crave, Zayn’s third studio album will be titled Nobody is Listening and is set to drop on January 15, with a new single called “Vibez” already released on January 8. Featuring 11 tracks including “Vibez”, the album marks his first album release in nearly two years, following on from his previous projects Mind of Mine and Icarus Falls.

Zayn himself shared the news of his highly anticipated single and album with a short video teaser, which he posted to Twitter in the early hours of January 7. The 12 second video opens in an empty theater with the word “Tomorrow” onscreen and a blurb of the song playing in the background. Of course, it drove Zayn’s fans into a frenzy, and even netizens are eagerly waiting for the new music.pic.twitter.com/J0dvguIXZH

Zayn has kept a relatively low profile over the past year and hasn’t shared much information about Nobody is Listening, what inspired the album, or what fans can expect from his latest release. According to the album’s page on Apple Music, there are 11 tracks on the album, but only “Better” and “Vibez” have complete titles. Zayn does love a bit of mystery when it comes to what he’s working on, so we’ll have to wait until January 15 to see what Nobody is Listening holds. Will we get a cameo appearance from a baby girl, or maybe a heartfelt song about his new life as a father? We’re officially curious and counting down the days.

In a recent interview with Entertainment Daily, the singer describes the album as “his most personal project to date”, and has been keeping any features and videos tightly under wraps. With Malik celebrating the birth of his first child with fellow star and model Gigi Hadid late last year, we’re left guessing whether the album will have a Blue Ivy moment and feature snippets of the newborn or Gigi.

Zayn Malik had previously admitted his March 2015 departure from One Direction had been a long time coming because their music wasn’t to his own tastes.

He has said: “From like the first year really, I never really wanted to be there in the band. I just gave it a go because it was there at the time and then when I realized the direction we were going in with the music, I instantly realized it wasn’t for me because I realized I couldn’t put any input in; I couldn’t give my opinion on this or that because it didn’t fit the grain of what we were as a band or what we represented.”

Zayn Malik and the team who is responsible for the marketing of his upcoming album have opted for an unusual marketing technique that involves a handful of phone numbers on which the fans can call to hear portions of Zayn Malik’s songs that are a part of his next musical release.

Upon calling what was considered to be Zayn Malik’s phone number, the listener can hear Zayn saying something on the lines of “Yo, this is Zayn here. Album is dropping on January 15. Press any number from one through nine to get to meet me. Press it now.”. As per the instructions that were delivered by Zayn through the IVR medium, the caller can press any of the numbers, which will introduce them to a portion from one of Zayn Malik’s songs, the full version of which will be released alongside other similar songs on the 15th of this month.

Now he’s announced his third album, Zayn is opening up about important details including collaborations on the record. The singer announced English rapper ‘Devlin’ and American singer/songwriter Syd will appear which may hint the musical style he’s headed in this time around.

The highly anticipated album is predicted to break records and surprise fans in more ways than one. Be ready for the release tomorrow!
